When My versa 2 just arrived and I used Alexa and it worked for a few times that I tried it. Later on I tried using it again l and now it doesn’t recognize my voice no matter what I say constantly says sorry please try again.
I’ve also tried shutting it off and turning it on again with no luck
is anyone else having the same problem or know a fix?

I am also having this problem. This is a replacement watch, customer service could not get the first one to work. This one worked when I got it, but asking Alexa gets no response. You are supposed to see movement on the watch when you are talking to Alexa, again I get nothing. Mic is on. Had the first generation Versa and it was great, wish I had not got the Versa 2. I have tried everything mentioned several times. Hoping the software gets fixed, if that’s it!!

Just an update. I contacted customer service who requested I reset to factory settings. After doing that, alexa still didnt respond. I decided to took a closer look at the microphone on the watch and noticed it wasn't clear as I originally thought 🤦🏼:female_sign: So, I cleaned it out and now it works perfectly!!

Where is the microphone? Is it the small slot close to the band fitting?

I just looked at the microphone and can’t see anything blocking it. However I figured what the heck and held the watch with a warm stream of water running on the microphone. I then shook the water out and black “stuff” came out. I did this several times.
It is now working. Thanks for the tip.

If you Google fitbit customer service, their 800 number pops up. I just got off the phone with another issue and it's resolved. As for Alexa, I had to be sure both phone and watch were on 2g. Phone was on 5g. When I changed that and restarted things, it finally worked. But if not, I'd call them. Very helpful to talk to a person.

Alexa would not respond nor was I receiving text/phone notifications on my Versa 2. I found that resetting the Versa 2 fixed both of these issues.

What does leave app on in background? Constantly?

☹️ Now having trouble with My third Versa. I’m not sure when Alexa stopped working, but it is acting as the first two now. Support has me going thru all the same things AGAIN but I don’t think they have any idea why it quit working. Eventually they will have me send it back but not before having me troubleshoot for several weeks. Why can’t they take this Versa 2 and tear it apart to find the problem.
Has anyone else had as much Alexa problems?

did you have to pay to send it back? They’re telling me I have to pay to ship a faulty product back to them

I did not have to send back the faulty product at all. I was just given instructions to properly discard it. But instead I stuck it in a drawer figuring maybe in a couple of years I could do surgery to remove the battery.
I think they base this on a case by case basis. Sometimes you'll have to ship it back, sometimes not. I've seen people on kijiji selling fitbits at absurdly low prices. So I believe not having customers send them back has create a bit of a gray market.
