Alexa not responding on Versa 2

Alexa has been working fine, besides a couple little glitches, but now it does not respond at all? Keeps showing to ask Alexa something. Is it possible the microphone is not working? Is there anyway to test it other then with Alexa? Thanks!

So what I’ve found online (and it works for me) is that when you activate
Alexa and either pluck or blow into the mic, it will hear your voice.--

My Alexa stopped working and wouldn't react to any voice commands. I tried blowing the speaker etc and it seemed to be registering the audio at least but still just kept asking me to try again... I found after a factory reset, then re-initiated Alexa and linked my account on my handset. Then l changed the language to German then tried Alexa and it worked (although l couldn't understand the display) then l switched back to English and tried it again it worked fine again. I have not had a problem since then.
