my fitbit must be automatically logging me out of my Alexa because I'm constantly going on my app logging back in!?

I bought the Versa 2 to talk to Alexa and turn our driveway lights on/off from the car or street at night.   Initially it worked great but lately I keep losing my Alexa connection.  Versa keeps telling me to (re)Setup Alexa.  Fitbit will no longer stay logged into Amazon.  Why is that happening?

I'm running into the same exact problem as well.

it's still not working for me. I am pretty sure that there is a problem on Fitbit/Alexa side, which they need to figure out. I don't think it's the user that is too stupid. They told me that there is currently an update which can confuse the smartwatch but I think that is not the cause

I've the exact same issue with my sense since last week. I uninstalled Amazon then reinstalled it. I've rebooted the phone and the watch.... Same thing. Disconnected everyday,.. twice a day....

Hi there, @MyVersa2Too @guiraudn. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums and troubleshooting the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out.

In addition to the steps you've done, please try the following:

  1. Hold the back button for 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If you still have issues with your device, turn it off and turn it back on. For more information, see How do I turn off my Fitbit device?

Then do the following:

  1. From the Today tab  in the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > your device image.
  2. Tap Voice Assistant > Amazon Alexa > Sign in with Amazon.
  3. Tap Get Started.
  4. Create or log in to your Amazon account.
  5. After completing all the steps, tap Close to return to the Voice Assistant tile.

For more troubleshooting steps, see What should I do if my voice assistant doesn't work on my Fitbit smartwatch?

Hope this helps.

Yeah started in the past week or two. Alexa on Fitbit is now virtually
useless. Google is trying to get us to switch to Nest. I've been a hard
core Google user but this SUCKS. We're sticking with Alexa. Hey Google
maybe I need to shop around for another watch.

Same here with Versa 3. Everytime I try to trigger Alexa on the watch, I need to sign-in again into my Amazon account in the Fitbit App.

I get the point of Fitbit being now part of Google, but these watches promised Alexa support, and now they're removing it... This should only be something done for upcoming devices, where no Alexa support is pointed out.

Good morning @SilviaFitbit,

I have tried the steps above. At least an additional restart didn't log out Alexa. Let's see whether it will work for more than some hours / days.

My wife and I have been having this same issue since the Fitbit app update on April 28th. We both have Moto G7 Powers with Android 10 using Fitbit Senses. I have tried the fix from SilviaFitbit with the latest app update from a few days ago. I was able to still be connected to Alexa after the 1st reboot of my phone. After the 2nd reboot of the phone Alexa was disconnected. Anyone else have any luck keeping Alexa working?

Thanks

Teddy

Logging out of fitbit, clearing cache, restarting phone and Logging back in to fitbit took care of the problem on my versa 2.

Thanks Vivcu2. Did you Clear Storage also or just Clear the Cache in Android settings?

The steps you propose are the steps we use every day to make it connected.

The problem here is that we need to do this often.

And as I mentioned, it started not long ago

I'm having the same issue on my Sense. I have Alexa already setup, but then I'll go to use it at some point and it's not connected. I've had it for months and this just started happening in the last few weeks or so.

I think each of you should report exactly this issue, because I am pretty sure they need to fix something but need to see first, that it is on their side. I guess they need many complains to start looking into this Alexa sync issue

I disagree. I have to go into the Fitbit app an re-enable Alexa once or twice a day. I'm having no issues with my Alexa app.

But where? The site loops me around when I try to get support.

Good idea to report it, Alexa is still not staying connected. I think it is
a phone app issue, not the watch itself.
