All Versa vibrations stopped working

I own the special edition Versa and it was a pre-order. The firmware version is 32.32.4.19 and it no longer does any vibrations, as the subject states. The notifications and alarms still work but no vibrations with the strength setting being Normal or Strong. I have even tried the Send a Test Call Notification prompt in the Fitbit app and no vibration either.

At first when wore the Versa it would vibrate with notifications, alarms, incoming calls, running, and when using Fitbit pay, so I know it worked at one point. I can swipe down on the clock face and my Versa shows the notifications I have gotten, so that is not the issue. It is just the vibrations have completely stopped. I have not received the new update yet and was planning on waiting until I updated my Versa to see if that fixes my problem, but this has been going on for a couple of weeks and patience is running thin. I want to like the Versa. I have owned a Charge and Charge 2, and I decided to upgrade. These are the steps I have taken to try and fix the issue:

  • I shutdown my Versa and powered back on.
  • I unpaired it through my phone's Bluetooth (Android Note 4, Android version 6.0.1).
  • Removed the Versa from my Fitbit app.
  • Uninstalled Fitbit app.
  • Turned off Bluetooth and Location.
  • Factory Reset Versa.
  • Shut down and powered on phone.
  • Installed Fitbit app, logged in, and added Versa.
  • Went through the steps to update Versa while Versa charging.
  • Turned on Bluetooth and Location through the Fitbit app when prompted.
  • Turned notifications on for texts, call, email, and other apps on in setting for both Versa and my phone.
  • Turned all sound on and made sure my phone was not in Do Not Disturb.

And still, Versa does not vibrate. I know this is a new product and there are bugs and glitches. However, I feel as I have tried everything in my power to fix this issue. If anyone else has had this issue and have fixed the problem, I would like to know. I need help on what my next action(s) should be. I don't want to return it, but will if I need to.

Thank you.

Thank you so much! This fixed my problem!

I have the special edition versa.  I held the button down on the left.  My notifications were turned off.     Now I get the vibration for calls and texts.   Thank you!!

Thanks so much Billi39. I couldn't figure out how my notifications for call/text quit vibrating on my Versa until I read your recommendation on here! I must have accidentally turned it off when messing with my Versa the other day! 🙂 All is working well now!

I tried holding the buttons to restart and it did not fix it. My notifications show missed calls and missed texts, but when e calls/texts come in, no vibration, the screen doesn’t even change.

Mine’s now a replacement and was fine for a month or so. Now it’s the same again - no notifications, vibrates for calendar events only and is selective on whether or not it picks up heart rate. I’m really fed up with it.

Ok this was driving me crazy....some how my Notifications setting on the Versa itself got turned off. To turn this back on doe the following;

  1. Hold the Back button (left) for a few seconds and the screen will come on to connect Versa to Phone.
  2. You will see 2 dots (..) meaning there is another screen, swipe to the second screen and turn on "Notifications"

Done (assuming all your other setting on the app are set).

Good luck

I am having the same problem and my Versa is only 2 weeks old.  It worked in the beginning for texts and phone calls as well as all other notifications but now it does not vibrate with phone calls or texts.  Someone posted to set the vibration settings to always on, but my fitbit does not give me an option for vibration settings or and always on tab. This is frustrating.

Did you read my post, the change needs to be done on the watch itself.

You need to turn notification "On" the watch hold down the left single button it will give you that option.

Help, I had a software update to the app  last week, since then several issues  have  occurred

1. Versa no longer vibrates

2. Versa records hr incorrectly,  even when relaxing  it says I'm in cardio or peak zone.

3. Hr not updating  to app or dashboard,  no graphs since 1 week previous

4. Keeps losing sync with app

5. Exercises gave stopped being shared to strava

I've reset several times,  ensured notifications on with strong vibrate. Revoked and reconnected strava, even reinstalled  the app.

Any suggestions welcome. Moderators are you there?

Looks like there is a software issue with IOS13 on IPhone and Versa, however, also check Settings for Sleep Mode which needs to be OFF and within Sleep Mode there is Schedule which I have “customised “ to go into Sleep Mode between 22:00 and 08:00 which stops notifications during the night which is great!

My Fitbit Versa has completely stopped vibrating.  I checked the "motor" using the stopwatch feature.  No vibration.  I can see texts coming through, but not vibration.  I have changed the Vibration setting from Norman to strong & back again... nothing.

I have restarted Versa MULTIPLE times... it doesn't even give me that quick vibration when I do that.  I have unpaired & re-paired. I have disconnected & reconnected it to & from my phone/the app

What else can I try?  One of the main reasons I use this watch instead of my Garmin is because of the notification/vibration & alarm feature.  Please help!!!
