Allergy to Versa

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Has anyone had an allergic reaction to the versa device itself? Not the band. I've had the device for over a year now and have been experiencing an itchy rash where the device sits. I've cleaned it daily and even taken time off from wearing it but the minute I put it back on, it starts all over again. I really love using it and don't want to have to stop!

Hi, you're not the only one with this problem. Type in the search bar of this board "Versa Discomfort" and you'll find a lot of topics about this phenomenon and also some solutions.

I have. I contacted Fitbit and they are sending me a refund and I have to send the watch back. Which makes me super sad. First 6 months of having it I had no issues and then it started it. Apparently it’s a known issue

Yes same, I’ve had mine for a little over 1 year and have worn it diligently but only really developed the rash in the past two month, I’ve tried switching arms and still have not found a switch. Now I have scarring after initial reaction which was blistering and then itching. I really love the Fitbit devices but previously had a flex. I will have to see if I can get a refund also 😕

Hi everyone,

I have been experiencing the same problem with my versa as well. I have wore it for a year and one month ago I experienced a big rush on my wrist and a rush all over my body, my face, my ankles my arms and chest, basically an allergic reaction. I stopped wearing it for a month and I waited the wrist to heal. Today I tried it again, after just 10 mins of wearing it I had the same reaction, a rush all over my body. I took zirtec straight after and I put hydrocortisone cream. It is so sad...I used to love it so much. But I cannot really wear it anymore. Should I contact Fitbit?

I know this is an old thread but I've been having an allergic reaction to the watch as well, it almost seems like it's taken off a thin layer of skin underneath the device itself. I've found that applying lotion 1-2 times a day around my whole wrist helps, I think it probably provides a thin layer between the fitbit and my wrist. (I also get dry skin from the band that I bought so it helps with that too)

Hi Dissa,

thanks for your message. The problem I had was more serious. I had a rush all over my body. This has happen twice, 10 mins after putting the versa on my wrist. Eventually, I bought an Apple Watch (much more expensive, I know) and it’s not giving me this problem at all.

cheers,

sheila

Thanks for the info. I thought I was going crazy until I found this thread.

I had the reaction a couple of weeks ago and I thought that I burned myself so I stopped wearing it for about a week to heal only to have the same reaction after I wore it again for the past three days.

It's been taking off my skin too. Where the band is, my skin peels and looks like scales. The problem is I can't use lotion due to skin sensitivity

I currently have this...

I've found that the only thing that helps is Eucerin (a thick medicated lotion, you can get it over-the-counter) which I borrowed from my mom, it doesn't make it go away but it doesn't hurt as bad. I also switch wrists each day.

I took my fitbit off around 2 months ago and it's still trying to heal. I'm not happy with the Fitbit brand, I'm only going to continue using it because it cost so much.

I swear it's like a chemical burn or something.

I also get a rash when using it.

I thought maybe i got the rash when i get it wet.

So i stopped wearing it when i have to wash my hands or even whn things that makes my hand wet like cleaning dishes and cooking.
