Any advantage to charging Fitbit devices while turned on or turned off

Does anyone know if there is any advantage to charging the Versa Lite with the device turned on or off?

Turned off would charge a little faster but when turned off the Versa lite turns on when connected to its charger. I would think that once connected you could shut it down.

@Rich_LaueYeah, I noticed that it turns on when I put it on the charger, but I can always turn it off.  I was just wondering if there was any advantage to doing it that way.  The only reason why I asked is because I put my Versa Lite on the charger, turned it off and fell asleep so it was probably on the charger for several hours before I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed that it was at 99% so actually it appeared to me that it charged slower, but the charge lasted longer.  Go figure.
