Any experience with FitBit Versa Lite and Huawei P20 Lite compatibility?

I am about to buy a FitBit Versa Lite for my dad with a Huawei P20 Lite and would be unable to return the product as the gift will be sent abroad.

I saw a lot of discussions about how FitBits don't work with Huawei P20 Lite, but then I see P20 Lite on the list of compatible devices on FitBit's Help page.

Any firsthand experience on this? Or a professional answer from the team? 🙂

Just curious why there's this solution on the website, but why there are also so many community discussions about how the Huawei P20 Lite is incompatible. Perhaps the Help Article we saw is new, and the discussions outdated? Hmm.

oops. Sorry about that - I should have spotted that.

The help file suggests it was updated in August. My impression is that there have always been issues with Huawei devices and the discussions in the forums seem to suggest that the problems are inconsistent. 

It does seem that it's a bit of a gamble.
