I've previously used a Charge and latterly a Charge 2 very happily. I also used a Pebble Steel for notifications.
Great I thought the Versa will combine both and therefore won't need to wear two devices.
Unfortunately I have been disappointed.
I attempted to set up the Versa via Bluetooth but when the time required got to an indicated 600 minutes I gave up.
Using Wifi it became a more magaeable hour!! Surely this must be speeded up.
Since then I have been unable to get the calls notification despite following the various troubleshooting instructions subject to restarting the device which presumable will take another hour and may not work.
Also the Pebble used to retain the message etc on screen until cleared. The Versa loses it instantaneously and as the vibrate doesn't seem to work I am not sure when I get the notifications requested. Although I can scroll through the notications received of course.
As I say all in all a very disappointing device. Hopefully future firmware may improve things

Yes although it took me over an hour. Not sure how this is thought to be acceptable to the majority of consumers.

I have a Samsung s7 edge too and I had no problems with the setup. It was quick. And I tried my notifications with the silent mode or DND and I do not receive notifications to the Versa. The sound has to be on or on vibrate to receive notifications. Also, my notifications stay on my Versa until I clear it and it does show the full message short and long.

Glad you have been successful. That was what I was hoping to achieve. I would not expect the notifications to operate on silent but the DND is scheduled and is on from 10.00 to 7.00. Otherwise the phone operates normally but obviously not the notifications. The unwanted Wallet screen does stay on until cancelled but of course I don't want to see that yet!!! I guess I will just have to accept that the notifications don't work.

Hmm...I assume you’ve turned on all the notifications on your phone and through the Fitbit app under the Versa? I really do hope that your notifications will work. Best of luck.

Thanks. The notifications were all still there from when I successfully used the Charge 2 which worked perfectly!!!

As someone that owns and loves my Ionic (I got it the first day available) I accepted that it would take a few versions of software and upgrades to the device before it was in good order. The only thing I don't like about the Ionic is that it didn't come in black (orange and blue sounded better to a marketing genius who I hope got fired) and that it is so big, I feel like Paul Manafort on a tether. I then pre-ordered the Versa... no one at anytime, mentioned that you couldn't have both on the same account. Frankly, Fitbit if you cared at all. you should have proactively sent a note to your Ionic customers (you know who we are... we are registered on your app). I started with a Charge HR, and then a Charge 2, and an Aria, and Flyers, and then bought Alta's for everyone for Christmas...
Instead of owning this and committing to fixing it, so we Fitbit loyalists can own more than one of their smart watches, Fitbit has gone "Full Zuckerberg". Say nothing and pretend as if it isn't a problem. #FAIL

BrianLeach, I was surprised the initial setup took so long as well, at least it’s only one time.

To answer the question, no I'm quite happy with the Versa itself. The hardware is the best I've seen from Fitbit, looking much better than the huge and clunky Ionic. The optical HR sensor seems to work well, and I like the fact that the back is completely smooth, so easy to keep clean.
However, I am still disappointed in the Fitbit android app, because it has the same unreliability that I found way back when I had the Blaze. Syncing will randomly stop working, as do notifications. I can get them working again but it takes effort to reboot my phone, or disable/enable various options till it decides to start working again.
I had hoped that they would integrate the excellent notifications system that Pebble had, as that was perfect - not only could you see notifications, but also delete or reply to them easily. The way Fitbit does it seems so primitive in comparison.

Hopefully but with my notification issues ongoing I amwouldn't be surprised if a restart was required at some stage!!

If you click on the message you should be able to see the whole thing. I'm struggling with the notifications on silent as well.

Notifications on silent are not a problem for me as I get no notifications at all. I realise you can look at any messages, I was rather hoping at least a portion would stay on the screen for longer than a nanosecond which according to some users it does. Just not for me so far.
Update I now see that the texts and emails notifications are being received but silently!! Just need the calls now for a full house.

With this being FitBit's first real stab at the Muggle market, I have to disagree.
Saying that problems within a brand new device are acceptable because the older version has them is a bit disingenuous. The Versa is being heavily advertised to the general public, and they've no real reason to expect it to ship with issues.

I have the iphone 7 also and had a terrible time setting up my Versa. It took me about 3 hours. It absolutely would not see my wifi. Text notifications were not working either. They started working after a reset but only about 50% of the time. I've never had an issue with my Alta, which I love!

You should try gaming with an xbox or playstation. Can take hours before you are able to play your first game. Many times you have to wait a half hour just to play a new game even if you have an updated xbox. This is just the world we live in. The higher tech we become the more of a pain in the **ahem** everything gets. Sometimes I wish I could just time warp to the 50's or something. LOL. We just have to learn patience with high tech gear. So many things can and will go wrong. Nothing is perfect in the tech world and it is only getting more complicated.

Did you check the 2nd notifications setting in the Versa itself? It took me a while to find it on mine.
You have to hold down the left button- the one that brings up your wallet- then swipe to the far right screen (there are three and you start on the middle screen). Turn on notifications there. I don't know why there is a second setting for it. It took a couple of minutes to start working on mine.
Hope this helps!

Could you give more information please. Pressing the left button just produces the clock face.
Sweeping left produces three screens (wallet is on the second screen), the third screen has settings but the notifications part only gives the choices of receving or not receiving notifications during exercise or during sleep.
Having turned back on the DND the text and email notifications having stopped, presumably giving me the choice of notification on the Versa or DND on the S7. On the plus side the random wallet notifications have also stopped.

Hold the left button down for at least a second, then you will see the other screens. There's a thin bar on the top of the screen that shows which one you're in, from the left it goes Music/Wallet/Shortcuts. The Shortcuts one has the screen wake and notifications options, but those should be both on by default.
