Anyone else disappointed by the Versa

I've previously used a Charge and latterly a Charge 2 very happily. I also used a Pebble Steel for notifications.

Great I thought the Versa will combine both and therefore won't need to wear two devices.

Unfortunately I have been disappointed.

I attempted to set up the Versa via Bluetooth but when the time required got to an indicated 600 minutes I gave up.

Using Wifi it became a more magaeable hour!! Surely this must be speeded up.

Since then I have been unable to get the calls notification despite following the various troubleshooting instructions subject to restarting the device which presumable will take another hour and may not work.

Also the Pebble used to retain the message etc on screen until cleared. The Versa loses it instantaneously and as the vibrate doesn't seem to work I am not sure when I get the notifications requested. Although I can scroll through the notications received of course.

As I say all in all a very disappointing device. Hopefully future firmware may improve things

Thank you for this. It is in the instructions but I must have missed it. As you guessed my notifications were off!! Now changed but still no call indications as yet.

Once I changed it, it took a couple of minutes before notifications started.

Have you tried Fit Notifications? It's an app in Play Store. I heard it fixes notifs for most Samsung people.

knew to fitbit coming from Garmin

anyone know if there's a way you can make notifications wake the screen ? Doing my head in feeling a vibration, looking at the screen and it just being blank/dark

@Quaz afaik no, it's easier once you learn how to flick your wrist though. I only struggle with alarms, gotta press the wake up button for those Smiley LOL

@Quaz in case you have a Samsung, this worked for someone else

edit: just wanted to add that apparently the Silent shortcut on Samsung automatically turns on DND apparently and this should be the workaround

Anyone who is loyal to a specific brand would give the company the benefit of the doubt.

Also the premium review sites (Which for example) make no reference to set up and connectivity issues for either device. So I'm not sure how your comment is helpful or accurate.

Having just bought my own Versa I have to say I am really shocked at how poor it is. Will be returning and I reccomend others do the same.

Anybody who's looking into buying a versa needs to read up on the Ionic first, they're the same basic watch running the same exact software, and have the same exact problems.

The Ionic has been out for quite awhile now, so there's no excuse for buying a versa and being suprised with any of the common issues.

It's very easy to switch from the versa forum to the Ionic forum to do your research 😋

There are folks who are using Fitbit trackers of all types and enjoying them with little to no problems. They CAN be difficult (and frustrating) to set up sometimes, but the more you work with them, the more you figure out what steps to take to get them working right.

This is a very old comment of mine made soon after I got the Versa.

Since then having sorted out all the issues mentioned I have been quite
happy with the Versa although it is a shame there is no main UK bank to use
the Wallet facility.

A couple of weeks ago the battery died after 15 months but I had no
hesitation in asking for a replacement Versa.

Yes, very disappointed and died after only 1 year of use.

Is yours still running? Mine died after only 1 year of use.

No but it was replaced under warranty.

I have to say once it was setup it performed faultlessly until its demise.

You must have been unlucky.

Yeah, apparently missed the 1 yr warranty by about a month.
