Are any of you happy with the Versa 2?

Hello,

I'm just wondering if any of you are happy with your Versa 2's? I currently own one and a Apple Watch Series 5. I will be returning one of them but haven't decided on which yet.

I love the battery life on the Versa and the Fitbit app is really easy to use. My issue with the Apple Watch is the battery life and I need apps for everything, and these require payments. With the Versa 2 I have everything under one roof. I'm mostly interested in fitness and don't really care that much about apps.

My concern however is all the negative feedback here. I do have some issues with notifications. Every morning I have to turn on and off Bluetooth on my iPhone to solve it. And 3rd party watch faces make the watch lag a bit.

Kind regards,

Adrian

Hi @Adrian., welcome to the community.

I'm very happy with my Versa 2, for me it's just the right mix of smartwatch vs fitness. Like for you battery life is important to me, I value it over advanced smart features I'd use a couple of times for the novelty factor, but never again after that.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones as I have absolutely zero sync or notification issues. Alexa works perfectly, I'm able to reply to message notifications via voice, ask questions and also control my home automation. Very happy! 😊 I even made my own clock face on Fitface with the information that was important to me, but easy on the battery and performance. I'd recommend giving it a go!

I am happy with a lot of aspects of the Versa 2 including the more vibrant screen, great battery life and ease of use of Fitbit apps. however even on Android I have to either restart my phone everyday or sometimes multiple times a day or turn on off Bluetooth to get my notifications to start working again. I had almost the same exact issues with three different Versa ones which I've used on multiple phones  over the last couple years. Notifications have always been a Fitbit issue which I don't think will ever be 100% resolved. I think at this point you'll have to live with spotty notifications or go with another product.

I wonder what phones you guys are using, if you  are having notification problems? I use a Samsung S8 and never have any notification issues at all. And Iove the Versa 2!

Hi @Adrian. I really love my Versa 2, not only because it's even working with a non supported Mobile device by Fitbit, but also because of the smoothness of the Fitbit app, all of it's possibilities and, last but not least, a battery life of 7 days on one charge. regards kuzibri

I have mixed feelings on my Versa 2 which is only 1 week old. The problems I've encountered in my first week:

- Stuck clock faces, when installing a new face it will get stuck installing it. I've figured out you can restart the watch, select any other face via the watch, then resync and you should get out of the stuck loop.

- Weight logging from the watch. My weight no matter what settings are selected are logged in KG even if the watch confirms for example " xx lbs logged at 12:00pm", it then takes that and converts it to lbs in the app, even though it was suppose to be lbs to begin with. So I enter 200lbs from my watch, it confirms "200lbs logged at 12:00pm" and the app will show 440lbs. I have an ongoing ticket with support on this that has been escalated twice, to no avail.

- Notifications being spotty. Once up and running everything works but for example this afternoon I went for a nap, I put my phone in "Do not disturb" mode and when I woke up turned this mode off, but my notifications would not show up on the watch after this. Restarting the watch solved this. To address above, I'm using a brand new S10 and A5 (Essentially S8) for work.

- Syncing issues, I have had multiple occurrences of the watch not syncing to the app. Generally requiring restarts of my phone/watch or both. Also these issues are more frequent if I'm connected to anything else, be it my car or sound bar.

- No ability to control Spotify during a workout. This really sucks, you have to choose between tracking your workout or controlling Spotify. Fitbit missed the mark here in a major way, as alot of people will be using Spotify during a workout.

- Alexa is spotty at best. I'd imagine this has something to do with the syncing/communication issues between phone and watch. Alexa has lost so many timers in my first week, I wont even use it anymore.

All this being said, I really like the look of it, its comfortable, when every thing is working it works well, it has the best battery life if compared to any other watches and its core functions work good, I have not had any issues tracking workout or sleep but I'd be lying if I said I'm not thinking about returning it after the first week.

Its kind of love/hate for me at the moment.
