Battery charge suddenly only lasting 12 hours

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Last Sunday my battery charge was lasting about 48 hours.  Suddenly on Thursday it was down to

3% after 13 hours.  It has continued through to today.  Versa was purchased Christmas 2017.  Help!!

I was having a similar problem that came about suddenly.  For me it was because I installed the bitmoji option for my watch face.  Once I took that off and went back to a previous face the problem resolved and my Versa is again lasting 3-4 days instead of 16-24 hours.

@CincyFit317 A warm welcome to our Community!

ear that your Versa's battery issue was resolved by changing the clock face. Thank you for sharing your experience and how you resolved it as this may help other members in the same situation.

I'll be around!

Same. I was one 90% this morning, and about 13 hours later I'm at 13%.

I have done the things in your post. My versa went from 100%charged at 7:30
this morning down to 0% sometimes before 10 pm. I’ll try again tomorrow.

I have to charge mine to 100% before  I go to bed, than again for 1 hour when I get up in the morning so it lasts until evening again.

But this battery is supposed to last 4 - 5 days. We shouldn't have to charge it at all every day.

This only works if you're within your warranty period.  I did this, proved there is a problem with the battery and can demonstrate exactly which day the problem suddenly started happening.  Unfortunately, my warranty expired 4 months ago. All they will do is offer a 25% discount on another product that's going to do the exact same thing (if all the posts about this issue spanning years and models is any indication).  This is an ongoing problem.  The company has literally had years to fix this issue and they haven't.

At this point, I find it impossible to believe that this isn't planned obsolescence. I'm going to find a more ethical, conscientious company to support.  I refuse to give my hard-earned money to a company that engages in this kind of practice.

After complaining to Fitbit about my first one not staying charged after I only had it 6 months, they sent me a new one to replace it. The second one wasn’t any better. I had to charge it daily. So I called them to complain and they sent me a new Versa2. It’s a much better watch. The change lasts 5 - 6 days. The resolution and colors are much better too.
Too bad they can’t get the Versa to work correctly.

My latest one was a Charge 3. I loved it until the battery suspiciously stopped holding a charge. Literally overnight it went from consistently holding a charge for a full week to holding a charge for less than a day. It's way too suspicious how many different people this has happened to, with various models, across several years.  If it was a glitch, Fitbit could have fixed it by now.  I'm absolutely convinced it's planned obsolescence by Fitbit (i.e. a scam to force people to constantly replace their devices).
