Battery drain doubled last week, and has been steady at twice what it used to be

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

For 6 months, my Fitbit Versa was draining about 12% per night consistently, thus lasting 5 days or more.

Roughly 10 days ago, it suddenly began draining 21% per night consistently.  I changed nothing in any

settings.  It is paired to a Pixel 3 (yes I work for Google), and I'm using the TH3 watch face.  But again,

I changed nothing at all in my configuration.  This can't be a battery getting weaker, because the doubling of battery drain happened so suddenly.  What should I do?

Fitbit mobile update happened. I'm assuming you updated to the newest version on google play (from Oct 4). Roll back.

That's exactly when the double drain began.  (I am now running v2.80.1 (20213324).)

So it's the app version on my phone, not the firmware on my watch, that needs rolling back?

How odd!  What are they doing - syncing 5x as often?

So to which version should I roll back?  On application mirror sites I see v2.80 (October 1),

v2.79 (Sept. 19), v2.78 (Sept. 6), and older versions.  Any suggestions?

Dear Fitbit - if you have a suggestion, I would love to hear it, before I try this roll-back.

@marclevoy my best guess is versa has trouble syncing so keeps trying and trying and trying draining your battery. You could try to turn off all day sync setting in the Fitbit mobile app and see if it helps. If not I would downgrade the mobile app. Now which version is a tricky question. If the previous version worked for you fine, then roll back to it. In my case, all recent versions of the software were a disaster. Versa would not sync, mobile app would drain my phone battery and forget about notifications. I always had to roll back to the most stable version for me - version 2.74. perhaps you're extremely lucky and your versa doesn't have issues. In that case roll back one version. ☺️

Hi,

I'm facing the same problem, the battery drain happened so suddenly throughout the past 10 days, my Versa is paired to Blackberry Key2 (Android version 8.1.0) although I didn't change any setup in the mobile app nor the watch.

any suggestions?
