Battery draining fast on Versa

Hi,

When my Versa charged to 100%, I purposely left it on the stand for 20 mins more. But it shows 99% within one min after I started to wear it. Any ideas? Defective?

Yes I have a problem when it’s fully charge 100% I noticed after a couple of seconds it goes to 99% wondering if that is correct?
I only get about 3 days use....

Hi Gihay.

This morning my battery went from 80% to 70% in just 3 hours, and I wasn't doing anything with it except look at my steps every now and again.

About an hour ago I changed the clockface back to the default Fitbit one (I had installed a third party one on the very first day).  Since then I *think* the discharge rate has slowed down, but I'll wait and see. The 3rd party clockface was not draining the battery in the first four days I had the Fitbit, so why should it start now? I'm confused. Anyway I'll see how it goes today.

Yes very strange as I’m thinking if it’s says 100% should stay for a while as I was using it for my run.
I’m even thinking to exchange it now as I haven't had it working more then 3 days as to what they say 4 days + .....

  • Gihay, does it continue to drain really fast? If you're only getting 24 hours or less of wear time out of a charge that's not normal. If you get at least 3 days of wear out of one charge even if it drops to 99% quickly after charging I think pretty standard wear time depending on your clock face and what your other settings are. Always connected and all day sync are gonna drain your battery faster as well as listening to music and using a third party watch face.

Your battery draining in less than 24 hours is not normal. You should get in touch with fitbit. I used the live chat feature on their site. They'll have you change your settings to the ones that drain the battery least and ask you to do a battery drain test. If the drain problem persists after your setting changes they should send you a replacement if your watch is still under warranty.

No it doesn’t....
I get 3 days by that time on the 3rd it’s about 25% or so....
But I do have to say I don’t use the Fitbit recommend clock faces I use the others which does that even make a difference?
Just got me that if the device is fully charged at 100 it should stay for a little bit and not drop to 99..... very strange.

I don't notice how low it gets in such a short time. When mine was losing
its entire charge within a day, that's when I had to contact support and
get a replacement. That's been several months ago and the replacement is
working fine. Is your Versa charge lasting a few days as you would expect?

Me again. Since I removed the Oro-lo-Gio clock face (found in 'digital') and put back the fitbit default face, the drain has slowed right down. I'll charge my Versa Lite tonight and see how it goes. It seems some of these clocks are heavy on juice!

Trouble is I don't like most of the genuine Fitbit ones!

OK, just a quick update on the battery drain. Last night I charged my Versa Lite for 3 hours and when removed from charge at 10 pm it read 99%.

This morning at 7 AM it said 96 %, which looks good, and at 10 AM it was at 94% after a 3k walk. Also good. This is after I scrapped the 3rd party Ori-lo-Glo watchface and went back to the default 'Trace' one.

Fitbit people, can we have some better-looking 'approved' faces please? I find the available ones are pretty messy and there are no analogue ones with a readable step display (by readable I mean big enough to easily see without my glasses!) Thanks.

Fitbit had me change my clock face to a Fitbit face for the drain test. My
Versa was still draining way faster than it should (although not as fast as
it did with the other face). My use a custom face on my replacement and
have zero drain problem. I don't think we should have to revert to the few
Fitbit faces to have a Versa that works properly.

That's very interesting, Ny. I'll keep my eye on it and perhaps try another 3rd party face after the next charge to see what happens. Thanks.

Hello,

I am also having trouble with the battery lasting. I purchased my versa about 2 months ago & have had to charge it every day for the past week. I turned off all day sync, quick view, & the alarms as suggested. I also did the re start, but none of that has helped.

Any other suggestions?

I was so frustrated, I sent mine back for a full refund.  I'm sticking with my Fitbit Blaze - now three years old, but much moe reliable.

What if you have already done all of the above but your versa dies in a day? Consistently. This is my second Versa. Gotta say I'm not impressed.

That's awful. As I recall, I had an option of a replacement Versa or credit
toward some other Fitbit. Whatever the credit offer was, I didn't want.
Luckily my replacement is going great. Guess you have to hassle with
support again. Somehow you've got to get your money out of that thing!

I totally agree! The watch faces that Fitbit supplies aren’t good enough, they definitely have to bring more as I like the option of having all the states in-front of me instead of tapping every time.

Well I’m also going to run my battery till it dies as one of the support members suggested....

Thanks and yep I agree. I shut pretty much all of the "bells and whistles"
and it's been better but I would NOT recommend this product to anyone. Very
very disappointed.

Hi everyone. I will assist you with your Versa's battery life and sorry for the late reply. Please try cleaning the contacts using cotton with rubbing alcohol then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's usb port (try different ports) or use an UL listed usb wall adapter. After this, restart your device and see how it behaves. You can also find additional suggestions here.

If you continue having issues please let me know.
