Battery draining fast on Versa

Hi,

When my Versa charged to 100%, I purposely left it on the stand for 20 mins more. But it shows 99% within one min after I started to wear it. Any ideas? Defective?

It should loose about 25% a day. I had the same problem when I got my first one and returned it and got new one n so far it's good. Like it's been 26 hours simce my last charge, and its at 80% now. I also have "all day sync" off and "quick view off. Always did on all my watches

@amberharter So is mine about normal battery use than? Mine seems like it will be less then 80% in 26 hours. I have all day sync off but quick view on. I am constantly checking my Versa and syncing since I’m in a challenge this week.

It kinda seems normal to me. Are you able to get almost 4 days? And that's pretty good for checking the challenges I think.  I would be concerned if it's under like 75% in one day... Just cuz the watch claims 4+ days. So 25% decrease a day is the goal

Oh I see. I usually charge it everyday like when I bathe or when know I won’t need it for awhile. I was comparing it to what I was used to seeing daily in my battery life so I suppose I should just let it drain and see how long it will last. But that’s  kinda unsettling that Fitbit can just go into our accounts without our permission to check our status and info but I guess that’s what we signed up for when we chose to use Fitbit. But at least they went forward to assist and remedy your situatation lol.

Ooo no, they asked for my email address to get in there so I gave him permission

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the updates and feedback about the issue you are experiencing. Upon checking with Support I was able to see that @jerbear737@Deek1, and @pif130, you already have a case. The best option at the moment is to continue receiving assistance from Support. I'm sure that they can help you to get back on track in no time if you explain the troubleshooting tips you already tried.

@amberharter To further assist you, I've created a Support case on your behalf - you should receive an email from Customer Support at the email you used to register with the Community forums.

@Jayelo Please let me know how long does your Versa's battery life lasts. Also, keep in mind that you will need to charge your tracker more often than expected if you play music or use the music controls frequently, you use apps that keep the watch's screen on or frequently access the internet or if you use an interactive or animated clock face.

I hope this help! 🙂

P.S. Remember to keep an eye to the help article Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life?

@LucyAP That support ticket is probably from the Versa that I sent back. That one gave me complete battery drainage in 43 hours. I'm on my second one now. I just thought I'd take a shot. I factory reset it this evening and charged it back to 100%. I'll see where I stand from here.

@LucyAP My batter was quite good when I first bought it and for the first week or so. Now this past week, the battery usage has gone down significantly. I use to lose 5% overnight. Then it went to 10% and now I am losing 20%. And it goes down 1-2% every hour. At this rate, my Versa last only 2 days. Unacceptable. I’ve restarted my Versa a few time. I’ve changed nothing on my Versa since I’ve gotten it. Actually, I use it a lot less then when I first got it. Do I need to return it?

Mine is in a the box ready for return today, I’m seriously wanting the next one to work. My battery was at 62% after just 10 hours yesterday I just took it off and got it ready for return just been to frustrating. I’m concerned about how tech support is telling us to turn off certain features and apps, I got the Versa to use with these features. Can’t wait to get one back on my wrist.

@jerbear737 I agree. I really loved my versa but now with this battery drainage problem I’m super bummed. I’m not gonna turn off my notifications or what not since that’s  what I’ve been using before my battery all of a sudden started draining quick. I don’t want a new one because the one I have, all the features work. This sucks.

@Jayelo and @jerbear737 Please excuse me if you've tried this already but I was running into the same problems. This is my second Versa (returned the first one) because of battery drainage. My first one lasted 43 hours. My second one started a bit better but was absolutely not to snuff. Yesterday I did a full factory reset and went through the set up again. I charged it to 100 and let it sit a bit longer on the cradle. I put it on my wrist last night at 7pm and turned on all day sync and always connected. I left the notifications off until I got to work this morning and then turned them on. Here I am 18.5 hours later and I'm sitting at 91%. I would have been in the 70s or 60s before I did the reset.

I mean, this could totally collapse and drain like crazy but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it is fixed. Again, if you've tried this already I'm sorry. I just thought I'd let you know what I did to get it to work. currently.

Happy to help @emalieannSmiley Happy

I really want to love this watch. It is everything, looks-wise, that I've wanted in a Fitbit. I just hope that it stays the course for me now. I hope yours does too! Good luck!

@pif130You know, I haven't done that yet and really don't want to unless it's like the last resort. But if my resetting doesn't work then I will have to do a factory reset. But, as I am typing, my battery is still dropping 1% an hour so that's not acceptable to me only because mine has not drained like this before when I first got it. I guess a factory reset will have to do and see what happens. Thanks for your help!

@Jayelo You are welcome. Hope it helps! I figure if I was just going to send it back then there is no reason not to try a factory reset. I synced everything to my app ahead of time and then did the reset. When I charge I'm using a UL approved wall charger now. From an old Samsung phone charger.

Who knows what will happen moving forward but for at least the past day, I've had fantastic battery life. Oh, I also set the screen brightness to "dim."

@pif130 Can I ask you a question? When you charge your versa to 100% and take it off the charger...how long does the versa hold the 100%? Mine can never hold a 100% charge after I take it off the cradle even after the factory reset. A few seconds it drops to 99%.

Best Answer

@Jayelo I know this question was intend to @pif130

I have the same issue, it does not matter how long I charge my device after it reaches 100%. once I remove it from the charger. It drops to 99%.

@Baysidefish That’s totally fine. It’s driving me nuts. Now my exercise shortcuts aren’t syncing with my Fitbit. I changed my exercise shortcuts but it’s not changing on my versa. I’m getting so frustrated. I restarted after my factory restart and it’s still not changing.
