Prior to the update, battery life averages 2-3 days. After the update, it only lasts 1 day. I have email and sms notifications on plus the HR. Same settings before the update.
It is frustrating because this is the 2nd replacement watch. First was 28 days after my purchase at HSN, the display went completely gray. Second was 3 months after it was replaced, the screen started getting gray and flickered a lot then totally went black.

One thought that strikes me for all the people who suddenly see their battery draining fast -- which is definitively not common!! or a general bug etc -- even those that did a clear factory reset, I am wondering if either bluetooth or wifi is somehow on or in a kind of locked state. I know this doesn't help, I am just thinking of what may be going on.

Possible, but has to be linked to the firmware update somehow. Wonder if it’s something they can fix?

This happened not only with my Versa recently but also with the Charge HR a few years ago. During a firmware update it just got stuck there until it bricked.

@lenny4d this or inability to sync - versa is perpetually trying to sync draining the battery. Saw that before. Resolution -
upgrade to 3.0. Hopefully.

@Marrrmaduke I got the notification of the new firmware update, I'm nervous about doing it since I just got this replacement 3 days ago. I am getting tired of asking Fitbit to send me a decently working unit.

I think if they send me a new one, I’m not doing the update. Not sure if ITW I’ll come with a current version. Still waiting on them to get back to me. I’m not in WiFi, nit running any extra apps, and battery is still draining fast.

@Marrrmaduke so I did take the leap and updated the firmware. No problems during the intallation and update so far. Am waiting until the battery charges to 100% before I start using it again. Will closely monitor the performance. Prior to this update the battery lasted from December 18 7pm to December 22 3pm with 47% battery left.

Let us know how it goes. They are sending me a new one. Hopefully it comes already updated, otherwise I’ll be hesitant to update.

Exactly why I was hesitant to do the update. This is the first time it lasted that long. Even the original Versa that I purchased wasn't like this. Hopefully it's consistent.. it's 20:19 and the battery is at 99%

Will let you all know how it comes and if it works like the one I have now did before the update. So far this old one (gotcin May), holds a charge for 3 hrs only since the update 😐

Update: Battery life improved after the update to v.x30 @Marrrmaduke
Last charged December 22nd at 4:15pm. Currently at 26% battery today December 27th at 4:20am.

@BJCruz Unfortunately, I cannot say the same. I'm down to 2.5 days from 5. But this is due to notifications I receive. They're turning on my display all the time. Do you receive many notifications?
