Battery not lasting or holding a charge

I purchased a fitbit versa special edition on May 30, 2020. I charged it fully, and 24 hours later it was dead. I repeated the same processed and the battery was dead again. Last night when I went to sleep 10:00 pm the batter had a charge of 78%, now at 9:49 am the batter is completely drained. After the second time, I searched what to do to preserve battery life and I turned off everything it said to do. I am not too sure if I am doing something wrong, of if I should be charging this every night or if I have a faulty watch. Please help.
