My battery died on my Versa. When I try to charge it the watch get really hot. I’ve cleaned the contacts. I bought a new 20.00 charger. That’s not the problem, as it does the same thing with the new charger. I’ve tried restarting it, but since the battery was completely dead when I discovered it wouldn’t charge, that’s not doing me much good. I’ve only had the watch for about 7 months.

My situation is yours almost precisely (mine 8 months old). Still waiting on even a response from Fitbit.
Clearly the Versa is in a tailspin.

The same thing is happening to me and still waiting for Fitbit to fix this or send me another one. I've only had this for 7 months

Anche io ho acquistato Versa tramite Esselunga ma non carica rimane 0%
ho fatto anche reset ma niente. Domani lo riporto al negozio
