Got a Versa for my birthday and was very excited. Went through the the setup process with no hiccups. About 5 minutes after setup my app was saying "Unable to connect to Versa" and also not syncing.
So obviously I came to the forums to try and sort out my issues. Go through all of the "answers" and follow it to a T. Still having the same issue. Finally just assume I messed up the initial process and factory reset and start over. And I back to were I started.
It is very frustrating to get a gift and have no answers. So here I am.
I'm on a Droid Turbo with Android 8.0.0. What can I do to avoid having to tell my wife she has to return my gift?
Thanks for any and all help.

Is your phone on the supported list?
If its not some things will work but others will not

@BCraig8 I agree with @WendyB. You can also try this:
The trick here is to not pair in phone Bluetooth settings but rather let the Fitbit mobile app do that. If the problem persists, I recommend downgrading Fitbit mobile app to 2.74.2. You can find apk flying somewhere on the internet. I find this build to be the most stable one for me.

It is on the list.

I will give the downgraded app a shot. During setup, I was always letting the app do the pairing, so I dontd think that was the issue.

I just tried the above fix and I am still having the same issues.

@BCraig8 I would try several times. Usually it is enough to unpair, reboot both devices, and open the app and sync. hmm

Is it weird that my devices Bluetooth did not pair with the Versa after resyncing?

@BCraig8 Nopes... It's weird. Same here. Versa will usually pop up in paired devices after some time. I have no clue whyyyy... Did it sync?

It's still not syncing on its own. I've noticed if I go into my Versa settings/Bluetooth/and try to add an audio device it will sync. But other than that it won't do it.
I am also not receiving SMS and call notifications even though those are set as notifications I want.

@BCraig8 Do you have any other bluetooth devices paired with your phone? If yes, unpair them, and perform the above mentioned procedure again. I really would like to avoid factory reset...

I do not have any other Bluetooth devices paired with my phone.

@BCraig8 Are you running 2.74 or 2.84 Fitbit mobile app? Also, do you have WiFI set up in Fitbit mobile app and on your Versa? I noticed WiFi causes issues with BT sync, so I set it up only for firmware upgrade and then delete it. Try deleting Wifi from Fitbit mobile app, forgetting Versa from BT settings, rebooting phone and Versa and syncing.

Running 2.84. Was having trouble getting 2.74 to download correctly to my phone. I do have the WiFi set up so I will walk through the tsteps and let you know if that helps.

Going to 2.74.2 seems to have made it worse. I could get it it intermittently sync to at least count my steps and sleep before, now it is giving me a red ! all the time. Still no text alerts.

So it seems to be syncing much better now. Still not receiving text notifications though. Thank you for all your help so far.
