Hello, I’ve bought a Fitbit Versa 3 after some reviews about a year ago after some reviews saying it was fine working with iOS and so forth.
I was a previous Android user which made me consider a non-Apple Watch specially since my tracking preferences are only regarding sleep and fitness exercises and the battery life seems to be much better of Fitbit devices.
At start everything worked ok, but after some months this Google and Fitbit relation started to set me apart. First they ask me for a Google account,
-then they changed the app
-then i had to subscribe to use certain features,
-after that the interface of apps started to became a nightmare
Fast forward to current date:
I have Google Fit app, Fitbit App, Apple Health, a Fitbit Subscription and I’m spending Christmas time over forums and feeling like I’m doing a Master’s Degree on how to access and setting data control and usage between those apps. Maybe I misbehave during this year but once upon a time technology was supposed to make our lives easier.
On Fitbit app, it’s easier to change settings from my gmail account 2nd factor authentication than access Fitbit connection apps details
My Google Fit app ended up getting my sleep data from my iPhone sensors from Apple Health itself.
It even asks me to put my finger on the camera to “start measuring my heartbeat” and respiratory data.
I guess the smart part of these devices is the effort you had to make on getting familiarized with the current product version and features, which you seem to do on a regular base since who knows how this interface will be in 2024, gathering data from everywhere other than the actual smartwatch that you bought and pay a subscription forth.
But it doesn’t work, at the end I’m only feeling dumber, and need to reset accounts and logins and data, like if was changing my devices every 3 months. Now I know I made a mistake in trusting Google products, but from a customer’s point of view, at least I’m willing to share my experience so some project manager can at least know my experience and see if dumber than i’m currently feeling, or there are some real issues to be addressed on the product development cycle.
I mean, I’ve done everything for you, my phone is full of unnecessary Google telemetry and gathering my usage data, you get everything and just want to see my Fitbit versa sleep and fitness data on Google Fit, either able or unable to share it with Apple Health. Please let me just know if this is possible, impossible or if I really need to finish my master’s degree on Fitbit foruns.
