I've tried restarting - after restart I get the same red X and message; connecting to computer to sync w computer app - it can't locate the watch; my phone cannot locate watch to connect to Bluetooth. On the back there is no blinking light of any color.

It has taken over 2 hours of constant attention to get the watch to pair w phone and download the watch update. At each step, I had to restart the watch and in the nanosecond between the fitbit logo and the big red X reappearing, I had to get the phone bluetooth to first forget the watch, reconnect on Bluetooth and twice download the update. On both updates, it ended with a failure message. However, after the second failure, the watch did start to function again. I'm going for a walk know to release the tension that built up during the process. I'm afraid to try the update again, because at lease now I seem to have watch functioning again.
