Bike rides. Mileage not showing in daily stats.

Anyone else or just me?  FitBit support have told me 'several times' this is a known glitch.  Did 32 mile ride and daily stats still showing 5.66miles. Not 1st bike ride but every single one to date that correct mileage is not being shown on FitBit. Usual cut & paste responses off & from support.

@GrubbyDuck   I apologize if I misunderstand your statement.  When you talk about the distance, are you referring to the "distance" that would be seen by looking at your dashboard or under the Today stats on your Versa?  It is my understanding that only step based activities go in to that distance.  Step based distance is the only distance that is used for lifetime distance badges -- Fitbit badges

As a long time Fitbit user, I think "glitch" is not the best term to choose.  This is not a code error.  It is working exactly like it is programmed to do.  At its core, Fitbit is step centric.  To me, the solution is a separate biking distance measurement.

Hi Laurie & thank you for your reply.  FitBit devices 'more so their flagship Versa' just as Garmin, Polar etc., that have their trackers programmed 'to measure distance no matter the activity' should too record your daily distances covered.

I've just started cycling again. If FitBit cannot turn this around quickly then I will be moving to either Garmin or Polar. Both manufacturers, their trackers will & can record distances covered in all sporting activities & not just off step count.  GPS tracking is there - Strava, linked via FitBit shows the distances so FitBit has the data at hand but fail to update your own stats.

Regards,

Dave.
