Black screen, previously unable to swipe screen.

My Fitbit versa is 2 years old, never had any issues. This morning it had 60% charge, but I was unable to swipe the screen. It was very delayed or didn’t respond. You could still tap the screen to get steps etc. 8 hours later the screen went black, but it vibrated to say I’d hit my daily target of steps. Afterwhich nothing. It will not charge and seems completely dead. Any advice or do I just need to buy a new one? I’m reluctant to buy a charge 5 if it will only last 2 years.

@Lucy98  - things to try first are:

  • clean the terminals, and charge again for 2 hours.
  • Check in the app if syncing, if yes then a screen problem and
  • Do a watch restart
  • Repeat above process
  • If not syncing with app, still a charge problem try connecting to a computer port and repeat process

If unsuccessful contact Fitbit support.

Thank you for your reply.

Ive followed your instructions and found that it is syncing. But strangely only says 15% charged when it has been on overnight.
Ive just done a watch restart and repeating the process, so fingers crossed this works.

Thanks again for your help.

Thanks again for the help.

I managed to get it charged and sync, but still a black screen.

I contacted customer support and they are sending out a replacement.
