Hello,
I bought the Versa 2 recently under the assumption from my research that this watch had the capability of streaming spotify straight to headphones without the use of my phone. Now I am not having much luck doing so and am a bit confused as I now see contradictory articles. Is it possible to play my spotify music straight to my headphones or will I always need my phone?
Side note: I can play directly to my echo too, just not my headphones. I have also tried to remove my headphones and repair as well as deleting the spotify app and reinstalling. Please help.

Hi @jelliebean, welcome to the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention and troubleshooting this situation prior to posting too. Let me share with you that you'll need your phone in order to use the Spotify app that's installed on your Versa 2 because the app on your device use the information that's on the one installed in your phone. If you would like to play music without using your phone at all, I suggest you to check our help article: How do I listen to music and podcasts on my Fitbit watch? which will explain you how to download music on your Versa 2.
If you're having difficulties with your headphones, please see the information that's specified on: How do I connect Bluetooth audio devices to my Fitbit watch?
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you for getting back to me. This is unfortunate to hear as the main reason I bought this watch was due to the thought that I was able to listen to spotify independently from my phone, specifically swimming as I obviously can't have my phone while doing so and I don't own my music.

You're welcome @jelliebean, thanks for your reply too.
I'm sorry to know that, I totally understand that this was the main reason why you purchased the Fitbit Versa 2. Let me share with you that even though there was an option to use the Spotify app without your phone, it's not possible to listen music with your Fitbit device while swimming.
I'll be around if you require further assistance. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

So to clear this up, I cannot listen to Spotify or download Spotify music to my versa 2?

Same here, this seems like false advertising to me. This was 90% of why I upgraded, so I could go phone free on walks. This is nonsense.

I was also pretty peeved as I basically spent $150 for a watch that I already had. Next time I'm just switching to the apple watch as I might as well get the capabilities I want for the big purchase.

Yes, as someone that does not run with my phone, I switched to the Garmin Venu, so I can connect my earbuds directly to my watch and listen to my Spotify playlists. Bonus: it has on-board GPS. It has about the same battery life as the Versa 2, and a gorgeous screen.

Thanks for the tip on the Garmin. I was looking at those too, but I like the fitbit dashboard. This Versa2 might be going back. I'm having a hard time justifying it over my Charge 3.
