I have no problem syncing my headphone ear piece to my versa but when I play the music there is no sound. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I tried adjusting the volume on the Versa and nothing happened. The ear piece does not have a volume control. It's strange because the earpiece works just fine with my phone and then nothing when connected to the Versa. I want to order another ear piece but am worried it might not work.
