appreciate you have taken the time to share your experience with the Versa and your Bluetooth headphones.. Please note that the Fitbit Versa should be able to connect with your wireless headphones. If they're not pairing up, please try the following:

  • Restart the Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.
  • Restart your wireless headphones according to the manufacturer instructions.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere when pairing the headphones.
  • Put the headphones in pairing mode
  • Go to the Settings app in the Versa > Bluetooth > +Audio Device and follow the onscreen instructions.

If these steps don't seem to work, go to your phone's Bluetooth settings and remove your Bluetooth headphones from here, then try the steps again.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

@Alliellro  "Got bluetooth headphones connected played music FAB, now i can see philips headphones on my versa ,why wont my music play now says no headphones ."

I have no idea what you mean with the part that I underlined?! It played before but not anymore? Connected or paired? - that is a BIG difference!  It appears from your message that you managed to pair your headphones (this you can see under the settings --> Bluetooth menu on your Versa) - please confirm. You only have to pair once.

But now you don't hear anything (and never did via the Versa) and you get the message "no heaphones". It means that the headphones are not connected... When you turn on the headphones the Versa will try to connect with them (not pair, you have already done that, seemingly). Once connected you can start to play music. Sometimes the connection process is a little pain, you may need to turn off the headphone and turn it on again. With mine I hear a message that says "connected to one device" in the headphone when it connects. Yours may say something of a similar nature.

Make sure that your headphones are not connecting to your mobile!! - this may happen if you have paired them to your mobile too and the mobile is in the vicinity. They can only connect to one device, either your phone or your mobile. If that happens, make sure to have your phone far away, or unpair (just remove them in the bluetooth menu on your mobile).

Let the community know how it goes and if this helps.

I have followed the instructions provided and even turned off my phone so my headphones do not connect to my phone and I am still unable to to pair my Jabra Sport Elite bluetooth headphones.  The Versa doesn't even read that there are any bluetooth devices around. It's very frustrating.  Please help!

@louise1527"so my headphones do not connect to my phone and I am still unable to to pair my Jabra Sport Elite bluetooth headphones.  The Versa doesn't even read that there are any bluetooth devices around."

Hi. Are you 100% sure that your earbuds are in pairing mode when trying to pair?! (see instructions, usually there is a small light that changes to a certain color or something similar).

Reading your text it looks like you may be (?) confusing a few things. "connect to ..." is very different from "pair".  You must pair before you can connect, you pair only once. Pairing is the process where your headphones and tracker (or phone) exchange some information so they can easily find each other in the future and communicate. After that, everytime you turn on your headphones they connect.

To pair you first go on your versa to settings > bluetooth > press "+audio device", THEN right after: put your headphone in pairing mode (which is not the same as just turning on!, see above), hold them close to Versa and far away from PC's etc, and your versa should find your headphones.

As long as the Versa doesn't say (in that same bluetooth menu) that it hasn't found the headphones you won't be able to use them. The name of the earbuds should be visible in the bluetooth menu above the "+audio device" box. Try this a few times until it works. I have notice several other fitbit-links for the Jabra sport elite, so others have managed to get it to work 🙂  I have other brand of earbuds, but it all worked straight out of the box on the first attempt.

Once paired, every time you want to use the headphones and you turn them on, the Versa needs to connect to the headphones before you can listen to music. That process is not 100% smooth either, but lets take one thing at a time. I read that in the new OS this goes automatically. Also note that on the Versa you need to start the music first before starting an exercise. If you start an exercise you can't get to your music again. But if the music is on, then you can get to music controls by pressing and holding the left button. That's a bit of a quirk.

so ... what you're saying is you need separate bluetooth headphones to be paired with however many different devices you might be using?  One for my Versa - another for my phone - and more, for instance, for my Kindle(s ... I have more than one), on the chance I might like to read a book while wearing my watch and carrying my phone? Sounds like a nightmare, esp considering i have only two ears and a bad memory as to which particular device might be paired with which headset!

@Cricketnoel  "you need separate bluetooth headphones to be paired with however many different devices you might be using?"

I didn't understand that sentence, especially not the underlined part. But to clarify: one headset can be paired with (but not connected with!!) as many devices as you like. You cannot make a connection if not previously paired. Pairing information stays in the devices. All pairing does is to save some settings so in the future a secure connection can be made easily.  No headset can be used with (=connected to) a device (tracker, mobile, whatever) if the two are not first paired. Pairing is a separate thing that you do once and normally you need to put the headphone (or whatever it is) in a so-called pairing mode. See instruction manual of headphones how to do this. If you use the same headphones with tracker and mobile, yes you need to pair with both.

A unit (headphones) can ONLY be connected to (not paired) one device at the time. If the headphone is connected to the mobile it cannot be connected to the tracker. Usually this is not a problem. But if for example the mobile is in auto-connect mode, then as soon as you turn on the headphones the mobile will connect with them, and the Versa cannot connect. That's why one has to be a little careful with headphones that are paired with more than one device. Hope this is clear 🙂

I haven't been able to  pair Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT headphones with Versa. I've gone through all of the steps from the previous posts numerous times but still hasn't worked. (On the other hand, it the headphones immediately paired to my iPhone...)

Best Answer

@noco24  The Sennheiser headphones only support Bluetooth 4.0 (and older), your Versa (and any smartwatch) needs Bluetooth 5.0 (aka Bluetooth light or Bluetooth smart). So, they won't work -- but yes work with your mobile as mobiles support both standards.

I tried doing the steps that you said to do, but it didn't work. The Fitbit will just say there are no devices when I have the headphones right next to it. I tried everything and it will not work.

@Mikaela_Murasko  : what type of earbuds/headphones do you have? [so we can check if they are compatible] and are you sure you have them in pairing mode? (which is not the same as turning them on!)

I just got a Versa and am trying to pair a set or G5 Bluetooth headphones. So far no luck.

1.Unpaired the headphones from my phone

2. Went into Pair mode. Headphones announce to launch Bluetooth and pair

3. Turned on Bluetooth on the Versa

The Versa finds the headphones right away and says "pairing", but after a minute or two I get a connection  failed message. Tried restarting the Versa. Attempted several goes at pairing, same message each time. Help please,.

@Steveb0914  Do you mean Power3 G5 earbuds?

When you go into your Versa > settings > bluetooth what does it say on the top? Does it say anything, or nothing? (above the box that says +audio device). Make sure you are ""miles"" away from PC, Wifi router and mobile (bluetooth and wifi interferes) and that you have your Versa in reasonable distance from the earbuds. What do the earbuds say (sound, usually you hear something like "paired to one device" or of that nature).

Hi Lenny. Thanks for the reply. I don't recall the exact brand the
headphones are but they come up as G5 in the Bluetooth search for
devices. Not a cell phone. Just a pair of regular Bluetooth
headphones.

Yes, when I go into my Versa > Settings> Bluetooth, there is a "+Audio
Device" along with a "Music via Bluetooth" below that with a setting
in blue for "Off", "On" and "Pair". (Tried both the On and the Pair
settings with the same result)

I tap the +Audio Device (once I have the headphones in Pairing mode)
and the Versa immediately finds them. I tap the G5 device that the
Versa found and the Versa attempts to connect to the headphones.

The headphones, in the meantime are chirping out "Please go to your
computer/phone Bluetooth settings and connect the headphones and gives
a pin code to connect" or something to that effect.

After about a minute or two of Versa trying to connect to the G5
headphones, I get a pink X and "Connection Failed" message.

Tried moving away from the router and increased the distance between
Versa and headphones. Same result
