Hello, as i pre-order Versa am now looking to buy bluetooth headphones to listen to Versa music when running. I would like to ask if i can use any bluetooth 4.0 and above headphones or i have to buy one with specific characteristics or must be Fitbit's original headphones? Thanks

There's no mention of special requirements in this help file https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2257 (which is for the ionic but will apply to versa too) and the versa manual is not showing any specific requirements.

There are a number of people that have posted with problems connecting headphones to the ionic so certain devices may be an issue. When you consider a specific headphone it might be worth doing a search for them in this community to see if anyone has reported anything.

@sakisbax,

I've successfully connected both Fitbit Flyers and a pair of Jaybird's to my Ionic... both which work fine.

When you do a pair of headphones, what you'd want to test is whether the volume controls work as expected.

The long explanation...  If the headphones actually turn the volume down, then it'll work.  Some headphones merely instruct the device to which they're connected to lower the volume (HID controls, if you're interested), which the device can ignore, then it may not work.  For instance, I believe that the Apple Airpods do not work when adjusting volume, but that was with the older Ionic firmware.

And naturally, this is merely anecdotal.  We're speculating that the Versa will behave similar to the Ionic, which is likely the case but not necessarily true.

I hope this helps.

Any other more affordable Bluetooth headphones that work. I just bough a pair through Amazon and they are a dud. Trying to save same time by asking. Thanks!

Hi,

I just bought the versa today and not sure what type of ear buds are best for it. Can't afford a huge price either.

My Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones pair to Versa without issue. Volume up/down and next song functions work perfectly as well.

I have a Versa and was not thrilled at all with the bluetooth audio quality. I had even started to conclude the problem was with the Versa itself as the other earbuds worked very well with my Samsung Galaxy S7.

I recently purchased a pair of TWS i7S bluetooth earphones from Wish.com and could not be more pleased with the audio reproduction. They are inexpensive and come with a battery charger.... volume level is better than with my Samsung....... a real inexpensive alternative ..... in case you are considering options........

Thank you. It's difficult sometimes when you don't want to pay a fortune.

Are those the iPhone earbuds generic ones?

They are very similar to Apple's Airpods. I ordered two pairs and the total
cost was less than $30 including shipping.

I have been able to get close to 2 hours of continuous use and because I
keep the second pair charged I can use them almost all day long ( a full
charge takes 1.5 to 2 hours approx).

Has anyone tried to pair with an LG Tone Pro Headset?  My fitbit Versa will not find my headset as a bluetooth device, but had no trouble pairing either to my phone

Thanks!
