Bluetooth showing Versa 2 and Versa 2 (classic)

My bluetooth is showing both Versa 2 and Versa 2 (classic) paired to my phone.  I have one watch.  Lastnight it totally unconnected to my phone/app and didn't track my sleep.  I have noticed I have these both paired now.  Is this normal to have both of these paired?

Hi @jennydawn , no this is not normal and explains the problems you have now. Unpair and delete the Versa 2 classic one, restart your phone and your Versa and se if that solves the problem. I had the same problem once when I used Fitbit app on my Windows 10 PC. Keep me posted on the outcome, regards kuzibri

Thanks!  I've done it, so we shall see how it goes.  Where does that classic one come from?

Hi, I do not know but when I had the same problem on my Windows 10 PC the icon of the Versa 2 Classic looked like a keyboard, so an input device and not the watch. Keep me posted how it goes, regards kuzibri

You're very welcome, that's why I'm around to try and help people with my knowledge gathered over de last 5 years using Fitbit devices. And in the and smartphones and smartwatches are much alike. Regards kuzibri

I believe the Versa 2 (classic) bluetooth profile is the one used by the watch when controlling your phone's media (play/pause, skip, volume). Hence why it shows up as an input device.

It shouldn't effect the phone to have both Versa 2 and Versa 2 Classic paired to your phone at the same time. When I just had Versa 2 connected and not Classic I would stop getting notifications all the time and have to restart the phone. This hasn't happened since they are both paired. The only negative I notice is not getting quite as good a battery life on my watch.

Fitbit really needs to find a better way to implement bluetooth. There is no reason why there should be 2 separate bluetooth drivers.Loosing the ability to sync and receive notifications seems to be the most common problem that fitbit users experience.

I've been having the same issue. And out of the blue randomly when I try to sync just regular versa 2, it now tells me versa is rejecting it. It will only sync with the classic, but then doesn't stay and it takes forever to get it to sync again.  I love the versa and I loved both of my fitbits previously. This is a Fitbit company issue. Their syncing has ALWAYS been an issue. Then they give you the steps try and get it to work and you can do the whole lot sometimes multiple times and it won't make a difference. My Atria Scale hasn't been able to sync in 2 years. All the forums everyone has the same problem. They need to fix this issue, it's been like 10 years! I put up with it though because when it does work it's great!
