Hello @Maggyb, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. If your Fitbit device isn't showing your heart rate, try the following troubleshooting tips in the order shown. After each tip, view your heart rate to see if you solved the problem:

  1. Open the Settings app  and find Heart Rate. If it's Off, change the setting to On.
  2. Tighten the band just enough so it isn't slipping around on your wrist. Your tracker needs a solid contact with your arm to reliably track your heart rate. Heart rate tracking may not work with certain accessory bands, especially if they’re loose fitting. For optimal results, we recommend wearing a Fitbit-branded classic or sport band during exercise.
  3. Move the band to a slightly different position on your arm—a little higher or a little lower.
  4. If the setting is Auto but your heart rate still isn't appearing, try changing the setting to On. Note that at this setting, the green lights on the back of your tracker flash even when you aren't wearing it. This does not indicate a problem with your tracker.
  5. Restart your Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else!

What does that even mean?  Open the settings app?  I’ve opened the Fitbit app and it shows where my heart rate used to show— there is no on or off.  Would you please show some screen shots?

Hey @ArmandoMM, welcome to the Community! The heart rate settings can be changed through the Versa itself. Swipe to the left, then find "Settings", scroll down and you'll find "heart rate", then just tap it to turn it ON or OFF.

In addition, if your Versa still not showing your heart rate, please restart it by following these instructions:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If your Fitbit Versa doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.

Let me know how it goes!

Does Fitbit Versa have the ability to sound or flash an alert / alarm when your heart rate reaches a set level?

Thanks

Hey @SunsetRunner, I hope you are fine! No my friend, the Versa doesn't have an alert or alarm to let you know when you reach certain set heart rate level, even though I have always thought that it would be a great addition. So let me suggest you something, please go to our Feature Suggestions board, there you'll find this idea, so leave your vote and comments on it. The more votes it has, the highest the chances to be taken into consideration it'll have.

Let me know if you have further questions!

I had the same issue.

Go to the settings icon on your watch  and look to see if your BPM tracker is on or off (mine was off for some reason)...

Welcome aboard @Katsgegg! Yes, that is how you turn ON or OFF the heart rate monitor on your Versa. Thanks for sharing that tip my friend. 😉

If you have further questions or comments, let me know!

Bpm still not working. Goes out randomly right in the middle of exercise. Does it need wi-fi to monitor?

Thanks!

I'm also having issues with my Versa not registering heart rate.  First the BPM froze at a random heart rate.  After resetting multiple times, completely turning off, changing the face, updating, returning it to factory settings, turning heart rate off syncing and turning back on and syncing it is now displaying it as --BPM and the green light is still not on. Anything else I can try?

I have the same problem. I've tried all the suggested fixes, and nothing seems to work. Anything else I can do? Is something mechanically wrong with my Versa?

My Fitbit versa is having the same issue, I have done all these steps and it’s still not showing the bpm.  If I wear my band any tighter I fear my hand will fall off 🙂

I ended up trading my Versa in for a new Versa Lite. That solved the problem for me, although it cost some money

I think the bpm issue has something to do with the bluetooth or wifi
connection. Mine goes out and then comes back in a few minutes. Don't think
there is mucht to do about it. Wearing it tighter is not the answer. IMHO.

Ya, I can't believe I spent all this money and it doesn't even work correctly.  This is the last Fitbit I will ever buy.  I'm going to see of Garmin products are better.  Even their support team don't even know how to fix the issue.
