I am having the same issue and this is a replacement versa lite. The heart rate works fine for a couple of months and then just ceases to work.

no heart rate data renders half of the data provided useless 

none of the troubleshooting steps have helped with either my first versa or this one. 
please expand on the settings though, maybe a snapshot photo. I can’t find anywhere that gives me an option for on, off or auto in settings for heart rate for my versa lite

Sorry, I can’t help you. My solution was to get a new FitBit Versa Lite. I haven’t had the problem again since doing that.

That’s what I did when it happened to my first versa lite, this one has only lasted just 2 1/2 months before doing exactly the same thing.

I bought 2 versa 2s for me and my wife. Both on in the settings I've tried all these step but it doesn't work on both

Mine worked well for about 3 months. The issue was there for nearly a week with no BPM showing. Started up again but at almost double the reading 😝 that was a bit scary! Seems to have settled again now and back to behaving itself. There has been an update in the interim so??
Good luck with yours, I was going to return mine again. Sad because I love it.

Hello. In your option #4, you wore “if the setting is auto...”. Which setting are you referring to?  Whatever it is, I hope it works because none of the other steps have corrected the problem.

I have the same issue.  I have had the versa 2 for 2 weeks and the bpm is not showing.  I have made sure the heart rate is “on” as part of the 7 options for display.  I have tried it on various positions and tightness in my wrist. None has helped.  I don’t understand what buttons you mean - back left and bottom buttons??

Has anyone gotten their Versa wet? It seems as soon as I decided to swim
in my pool and it got wet, that's when things stopped working.

My Versa bpm displays ??? After an hour reading and executing step by step every suggestion I have no positive results, this issue is quite prevalent by what I read, this is BS, to my amazement some people's solution to this problem is to......wait for it....... BUY AN OTHER ONE!  Im going with option 2 , that is throw this useless paperweight in the garbage where it belongs and never give this guys an other penny, VOTE WITH YOUR MONEY PEOPLE!
