Brand New Fitbit Versa 2 - Isn't Charging

I connected my new Fitbit Versa 2 to the charger. It flickered the green logo then went black. I tried to connect to my app (had the charger) but it can't locate. It started to in the 6 seconds I had the logo, but then started searching. I have had it plugged in for 30 minutes. Is a light supposed to come on? Very frustrating. Hope there is an easy fix because I kept going back and forth between buying this and the apple watch. Help appreciated.

Sounds to me you got a defective device. It happens. I would take it back where ever you got it and exchange it

Sounds to me you got a defective device. It happens. I would take it back where ever you got it and exchange it
