Brand new Versa 2 is tracking too many steps

I just got this specific Fitbit as of yesterday.. went on a 1 mile walk with my husband, my watch counts 1.75 miles while his apple watch said 1.09.

I woke up this morning and had 200 steps before getting out of bed.. I have 700 steps right now AND I HAVEN'T EVEN LEFT MY BED LET ALONE MY HOUSE!!!!

Yes I'm reset, restarted, change strides, wear it on my non-dominant wrist.. I need an answer to this that isn't MY fault and not a fault watch that I haven't even had for 24 hours... Only answer I've found us not wearing it unless I'm working out or walking for a long time and that makes this thi g e tirely pointless.

How do you keep it from counting all your wrist movements as non existent steps? Now I'm worried it'll be 'fixed' and not even him me enough steps to count.

Update: Day 2 and this is still an issue! it clocked me 100 steps while driving, and over 100 while sitting at my office desk.. at this point I'm going to return it, whats the point in having a tracker with inaccurate tracking?? highly disappointed.

I've tried talking to support on all different levels and there's been no help at all outside of it apparently being USER ERROR which is impossible. I got 300+ steps SITTING AT MY DESK and another 50+ from driving.. what's the point of a smartwatch that doesn't work properly? I've not even had this watch for a week and it's not even remotely accurate... TERRIBLE products!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! WASTE of time and money.
