Brand new Versa almost can't be more inaccurate

The most consistent problem with my girlfriend's brand new Versa is the horribly inaccurate tracking.  I have a Garmin with built in GPS and we took a (GPS measured) 5.11 mile walk.  At the end of that walk, her Versa said she had walked 3.7 miles.  When we got home (by car ...) it said she had gone 9.06 miles in 13,250 steps.  She has not manually adjusted her stride length and this would imply she has a stride length of almost 43.5" and at 5'3", that's extraordinarily unlikely ...

This is a daily occurance at this point.

I looked at the graph and the steps and miles are consistent (ie: it's not like there's a huge mileage increase at a time when she had not steps).

Yesterday, she also experienced an additional problem where she was out running errands and it went from 9 miles to all zeros then when she got back home, it bumped back to 9 miles.  Not that it should matter, but she had her phone with her all day.

This product will be returned if we can't fix it.

It is 2 separate cases depending on whether or not she was using connected-GPS, using her phone's GPS.  2 totally different ways of  getting distance; without that info, impossible to give advice.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

She didn't use any GPS, it was my Garmin that was measuring the mileage via GPS.  Sorry I wasn't clear.
