Brand new fitbit won't detect WiFi and won't set up

I purchased a fitbit today for the first time and I'm having some issues setting it up. It won't work through Bluetooth and it won't detect any wifi. I have tried restarting the fitbit, restarting my phone (Huawei p8 lite 2017), turning the Bluetooth on and off, the WiFi on and off, and restarting the start up process.

Nothing is working!

Has anyone had his problem before/got any suggestions? I am very, very disappointed!

I am having the same issues with my new Versa.  I didn't have the problem with any previous Fitbits.  I am ready to return it because I have wasted half of my Saturday trying to get it to set up.

I don't really want to return mine if I'm honest, it's the first time I've had one and it's a birthday present, I just really want to get it sorted!

WiFi is not needed to setup the Fitbit tracker to your Fitbit account.. It may be helpful in updating the firmware but I setup mine while traveling to work.

May I ask what version WiFi you have, Home 2.4 will work where as Home 5.0 will not.

I am also having the same issues and found out that my phone is not compatible with any Fitbit products apparently! 😞 You might want to check out the compatibility of your phone. Any of the latest Huawei phones won't work which is so very disappointing. Don't know what I'm going to do seeing as how I love my Fitbit! Bad play, Fitbit, bad play.

Newer phones usually take a while to be tested and maybe the app needs to be modified but a phone not listed does not mean it will not work. It simply means Fitbit has not or is still in the process of testing and working out the problems.

Thank you, I have 2.4 connection, I've just checked the list of none compatibles and the Huawei p8 is on there but the lite 2017 version isn't..

I also have a Samsung s5 neo I could use with it but that is also not in the list of compatible phones 😞

I think I was misinformed there, the p8 lite is on the list of none compatibles!
