Brand new versa not updating firmware

bought new versa today. 

took out of box, charged and then tried to setup on my android phone. 

gets to the firmware update and after about minute on fitbit logo in grey i get a red vibrating cross and does not go any further

after that the screen just goes back to the fitbit/setup screen in different languages. 

any ideas what i need to do to fix this?

I'm having the same issue.im on firmware 32.3.0.14.

Yep, I have that same firmware and it simply does not update with the latest Fitbit app on Android.

I'm having the same issue connecting to my galaxy note 8. I have the same firmware version and have tried uninstalling, repairing, wifi and bluetooth update yet all fails!!
