Broken Pin from wristband

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My wristband needed replaced on my Versa.  I have changed bands before and it wasn’t easy but I was able to do it.  This time, a pin from the wristband broke off in the Fitbit so I can’t put on a new band.  Therefore, I can’t use this $200 devise.  I have been very disappointed that Fitbit has not been helpful in resolving this.  I have always been a loyal customer and have purchased 3 Fitbit devices.  I am a Spinning Instructor and have recommended Fitbit to people in my classes. I will now encourage people NOT to purchase a Fitbit unless they resolve this issue.

Hello @NBires and welcome to the Help forums.  I broke a pin, too.  I was lucky enough that the broken part didn't get stuck in the device.  I don't know what level of lockdown you are in due to the pandemic.  My area just started letting non-essential businesses reopen to let customers inside.  I recommend trying a jeweler or watch repair shop.  These types of pins are used on other types of watchbands, so we aren't the first to experience this frustration.  I hope you get a good outcome.

Hi,
Thanks for the information. I already went to a jewelry store and Verizon. They were not able to help.

I bought this 23mm width pin from Amazon last month, they are supposed to be the cheapest, very sturdy and durable, great for protecting my vesa https://www.amazon.com/ODERMO-Stainless-Compatible-Special-Diameter/dp/B088DTR4CG/ref=sr_1_16?dchild...

This happened with my band today, also. After trying everything we could to get the broken piece out, my husband suggested taking it to a jeweler. After seeing your posts, I can save myself a trip. Thank you! My husband did eventually find a solution by using a 1/16” bit to drill a new hole next to it. I was then able to put the new band on without any problems. He said you don’t have to drill very far, in case anyone else chooses to do it, too.

Thanks! I took it to a second jeweler and they were able to fix it.
