Buyer Beware-you can't switch trackers

  • I was so excited to get my versa 2. Got it all set up, had my plan to wear it to work and when I was out and about (after covid). And on the weekends when I was doing projects I'd flip back to my charge 3. Well going to the charge 3 was ok, seemed odd that it said to activate my charge 3 and I no longer saw my versa 2 at all but ok. Then on Sunday I went to switch back. And I had to do the entire set up of the Versa 2 again. I talked to support and they said the because they both use the same operating system it has to unpair them. Ok well lots of things unpair but aren't removed from software on my phone and apps. When I'm done with my headphones or my keyboard they don't delete themselves. So beware. If you spend the extra money you will have to either suck it up and hope you don't break the thing while running your lawnmower, rototiller or changing your spark plugs. Or get used to spending a lot of time each time you switch to redo your set up. I suggested that they set it up to just unpaid it and leave it out there. Have the 'reactivate' option just repair the to devices. (I'm a programmer by day) It doesn't seem that hard. So if you all agree how about giving this a thumbs up or a me too to let them know this is ridiculous that we don't want to waste our money here. We can't all use a $200 smartwatch as a throw away watch! That's why the lower end trackers exist....

@lcarbrey - Sorry you are disappointed. But this limitation is clearly stated in the Help pages. Here is the explanation. FYI - it is possible to quickly sync -> remove from device -> then Set up New Device. I own several Fitbit devices and go thru this process frequently.

From the Help pages

Note that you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit App Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Charge 4, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time.
