Calls on my Versa 2 don't work

Whenever I receive a call while synced to my Versa, I get the notification of an incoming call, I answer my phone but the call doesn't correctly connect. It says Active call on my Versa and the call timer advances on my phone but I can't hear the caller and the caller can not hear me. The only way I've figured to fix this is to turn the Bluetooth off on my phone but then I'm concerned my activity is not being tracked. I currently have an iPhone 7. I don't want to constantly turn off the blue tooth just so I can receive phone calls.
