Calories Burned Seem too high

Hi all. I am new to the fitbit. I have worn it for only 2 days and it seems that my calories burned through the day are extremely high. For example, yesterday it said that I burned 3248 cals. I did run a couple miles during the day then again with weight training later at night. However, I would think that that would only be a couple hundred calories burned. I am guessing that this number reflects resting cals burned, however, I don't think that I burned 1000 calories working out.

Thanks!

I don't know if this totally explains your issue, but fitbit does include BMR (basal metabolic rate) calories, the calories you are always burning just by being alive.

For more on this, see:

How does Fitbit estimate how many calories I've burned?

Another factor to check is that your weight is entered correctly.  That is a big factor in calorie burn.

And it's not just working out that is above BMR.  Any activity, including just standing or walking around during the day, is burning above the BMR calories.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
