I have had the fitbit versa since June, 2018. I noticed that the calories and heartrate reported by Versa seem to be off consistently.
For the last one month I have now been taking my blood pressure and pulse at 6:30 am, and looking at the reading from Versa.
Omron blood pressure monitor average over the month - 62
Fitbit versa current heart rate average - 72
Fitbit versa resting heart rate average - 79
Doing the statistics shows that the readings between the omron and the fitbit are significantly different.
I also checked for 30 days on heartrate reported on NordicTrack elliptical and fitbit versa for 30 minutes cardio and Nordictrack reading is 138 and fitbit reading is 102.
I then had my annual checkup and was on the treadmill. The instrument in the doctor's office shows 182 and fitbit shows 138. This is about the time I am ready to pass out.
Why is there such a significant underreporting of the heartrate and calories? Is this a marketing gimmick?

@enigmacmpr Haven't noticed that issue with mine. Have you tried toggling Heart Rate OFF and back ON in the Settings app on your Versa with a reboot inbetween (press and hold the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes)? Have you tried adjusting the position and tightness of your band? Finally, have you tried restoring Versa to factory defaults (performing a factory reset)? This will wipe your Versa, so please sync first. You will also need to delete your tracker from the Fitbit account (in the Fitbit mobile app) and your Paired Devices list in your phone Bluetooth settings. You can perform factory reset by going to Settings on your Versa, scrolling down to About and tapping Factory Reset. Once Versa resets to factory defaults, you will need to set it up again by adding it as a new device in the Fitbit mobile app.

My investigations into the discrepancies with the heart rate and calories started with how my sleep was being reported. I spent a few hours on the phone with fitbit support and went through multiple factory resets, re-boots etc. I was then told that an update was coming soon (Nov/Dec 2018) and that would fix the issues.
I am sure that the update to the Versa has not fixed the issues. Another observation - quite often versa reports that I have been walking during sleep and occasionally also reports that I have climbed stairs during sleep.

@enigmacmpr I feel your pain. I'm trying to figure out if it's a faulty device or software issue that can be resolved as Versa is pretty accurate on my end. Have you tried factory reset? Give it a go and report back.
