For every minute the watch is not worn it shows 6 calories burned. I saw this in the graph and it distorts the measurement drastically.  How can I get rid of that? Or Do I need to wear the watch every minute of the day, including when I sleep?

Fitbit counts your BMR (basal metabolic rate) calories that you are always burning.

These are always counted even when you are not wearing the tracker.

See How does Fitbit estimate how many calories I've burned?

So you should get some calories burned even when not wearing it.  However 6 calories/minute seems very high for these.  Check you are reading the numbers correctly and that your weight is not entered way off.  The best way to see calories count like this is on the fitbit.com dashboard on the daily calories graph.  You can read off calories per 15 minute increments.

Ok. Thanks.  Actually it is 6 calories every 5 minutes not every minute.

That sounds reasonable for BMR.
