Can We Please Get Active Zone Minutes On The Versa 2?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

It's not like I'll sell my Versa 2 and buy a Charge 4.

And it is only a software thing. I can calculate it myself looking at my metrics. This is a goal I'm excited about as it can help me hit more meaningful fitness goals.

We all know it's just one software update away - so can someone tell me why it is locked behind the Charge 4 apart from making that tracker more attractive? If someone buys the Charge 4, it is for the GPS function first and foremost.

Hi @RazvanClaudiu, great to see you in the community.

I'm pleased to say that active zone minutes will be coming to the fitbit Versa family (and Ionic) as mentioned in the following blog (here). I don't see a date for release, but would imagine it to be relatively soon.

Availability: Active Zone Minutes will be available on Fitbit Charge 4 and coming soon to the Fitbit Versa and Fitbit Ionic family of devices.

Hi, is there any news on this update? I think the active zone minutes are very valuable but I am frustrated that the top-of-the-line device, the Versa 2, does not have this feature still.

Is there any release date yet?

Hi, can we please have some feedback on when the Active Zone Minutes will be rolled out to the Versa/Ionic watches?

Not sure what you mean by Active Zone minutes but if you try the SimpleClock, it has Active minutes, Steps This Hours, Steps, Stairs, Heart rate, Battery and Time with seconds all on the main face.

Does that help?

@Guy_ Active Minutes are available on all Fitbit devices except for the Charge 4, which uses Active Zone Minutes. I've owned the Charge 4 and now the Versa 2 and I prefer Active Zone Minutes personally.

Here's the difference:

Active Zone Minutes you get 1 point for every minute your heart is in a fat burn state.

You get 2 points for every minute your heart is in a cardio or peak state

Your goal is 150 Active Zone Minutes a week or 22 per day (these are the defaults).

Active Minutes are earned through 10mins of or more of continuous moderate-to-intense activity.

Your goal is 30 Active Minutes a day for Adults and 60 for kids.

I prefer Active Zone Minutes because if I'm playing and running with my kids outside for example and my heart rate gets into a fat burning or cardio zone even for short bursts, then I'm accumulating Active Zone Minutes for the day. With Active Minutes I'd have to maintain that fat burning or cardio state for 10mins or longer to accumulate Active Minutes for the day.

Those short bursts of cardio and fat burning are still beneficial on a daily basis and aren't counted in the Active Minutes format that is default on our Versa 2.

We are now end of July and still don’t have this??? What’s up?

I found this fitbit link that shows the instructions for setting active zone minutes on your versa2 or ionic so I think the roll out must be imminent.  Just need to wait for the update.

Update: A few minutes after posting this the active zone minutes update came through on my son's versa 2.  Still not available for me yet.

I got the update on my app but did anyone's heart rate zone got updated? I had a different zone before the update and after the update my hear rate zones are default max of 220 i.e. not accounting my age.

Hello @SweetDh and welcome to the Help forums.  Your update should have changed your screen from active minutes to active zone minutes.  You will see that the icon changed from lightning bolt to a stack of three of these "^".  Zone minutes use a different method to calculate your zones.  It takes your resting heart rate into account.  You will see your new zones when you tap on the zone minute icon on your phone dashboard.

Has anyone else noticed that the active zone minutes icon has reverted back to active minutes on the today dashboard on your phone?  My phone updated today and all seemed good and I could click the active zone minutes icon on the today screen but now it's gone.   I uninstalled and reinstalled the app but no difference

My iOS app had active minutes for a little while, but it switched back to zone minutes on its own.  My app version is 3.28.
