Can a Versa track exercise WHILE having the screen off?

Hello,

 

I currently have a Charge 5 and am looking to upgrade to a Versa. I need a watch that I can set to keep the screen OFF while also tracking exercise. I take spin classes in a dark room and I'd like to have the screen stay off while exercising, but still track the exercise. Does the Versa 3 have this function?

Just turn of wake gesture in settings. When you start tracking your exercise the screen will turn off after a few seconds and to turn it on you will have to press button or tap the display. This will prevent accidental screen wake up on wrist turn. The exercise will record regardless the screen state.
