Can't add Amex gold (Rose Gold) card to FitBit Pay (USA)

Hi! I just got my new Amex credit card & whenever I put in the CORRECT information, I get this error:
"Uhoh! Looks like we don't support this card for use with Fitbit Pay. Tap below to see supported banks & cards. If you feel this is an error, please contact the card issuer"
So I contacted Amex.
They aren't specialized in fixing the issue. I was told they don't have much information about why the card won't add.
The actual card is still in transit, so I have the card number & temporary cvv.
Is there a fix to this issue? Should I try again when I have the actual card?
Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Fitbit should have a device trade-in program. Am I wrong?

@JazzDaChameleon   You might need to wait until you get the card.  You say that AMEX gave you a temporary cvv.  Try again when you get the real cvv.  This is just a guess.
