I am trying to get my sons new versa 2 to pair with the fitbit app on a kindle fire. I removed all the other bluetooth devices, restarted bothering the tablet and the watch and when I hit add device, pick the versa and hit setup your fitbit versa 2, wheel spins and goes right back to the account settings page and nothing happens on the watch. How do I get this added to his account?

Hi @Merryvh , I would suggest to go to this topic the Feature Suggestions Board, since Fitbit does not support the Kindle Fire, and vote for it. The status of your request is at this moment "Under Consideration", so a great chance that it will be implemented in a next update. Regards kuzibri

My daughter purchased the versa 2 for me for christmas and I cannot pair it to the amazon fire. I find this so mind boggling since the watch HAS ALEXA ON IT. Why would the fire not support it. I am so annoyed right now I want to return the watch.

I also got the versa 2 for Christmas and my disappointment is hard to hide. I have the fitbit app on my kindle fire and it worked great with my Alta HR. I asked for the Versa because I wanted to upgrade. Had I known the Versa wouldn't work on it, i probably would have gone with something else. I also found out that my phone is too outdated now for the Versa 2. So very frustrated.

I'm in a similar situation. We bought my Mom the Versa 2 for xmas and have yet to get it to sync with her Amazon Fire tablet. Which we find strange considering that she was using a Charge 2 previous to this and it had no issues using the OFFICIAL Fitbit app on her Amazon Fire. I also find it odd that on that "device compatibility" link someone else posted here, there is no mention whatsoever of the Amazon fire. While they specifically name some devices that are NOT compatible....Amazon Fire is NOT among those.
Hopefully there is an app update on the way that will resolve this soon...otherwise the Versa 2 is getting returned.

Did anyone find an answer to this? I have a friend who wants the fitbit versa 2 but only has a kindle fire. Shes understandably frustrated by it not syncing

I gave my wife a versa 2 to replace her charge 2. She did not feel the need to have a new device but after using the versa 2 for a day or two, she loves the versa 2. It is more comfortable. She would not wear the charge 2 in bed but she finds the versa 2 comfortable to wear when sleeping and she can now have the versa 2 track her sleep. The versa 2 is more elegant looking and has a lot more features.
I set up the Fitbit app on her Android phone which works fine with the versa 2 but she also has a Kindle Fire that she uses for reading all the time. She uses the Kindle more than her phone. I was trying to set up the Kindle to sync with the versa 2 but couldn't. Now I find out that the Kindle is not on the compatible list of devices. We can manage by syncing the versa 2 with her phone but it is a shame that the Kindle cannot sync with the versa 2. Hopefully, either Fitbit or Amazon will come up with a fix so the the Kondle can syn with the versa 2.

FitBit techs told me the issue is Amazon's issue regarding their Bluetooth configuration. Their answer to me was to purchase a new iPhone that is compatible with the Versa 2. What an expensive investment this Christmas gift is going to cost me.

@poncho14a @KymSchweYa @badlyS.C.R.A. @kleavell @Toexercise @takajiinouye There used to be a workaround for this, but I am not sure it works anymore. The Fire OS is a modified Android OS. There used to be a way to download the Google Play Store to a Kindle. Then users would download the true Android Fitbit app.
I can't even begin to tell you how to do this or if it will still work. I use iPhone/Mac. The Versa family OS is very different from previous devices. This might be the reason why an Alta can sync, but a Versa will not. The explanation given to @takajiinouye just might say it all.

I have not yet. This is terrible on Fitbit side the versa is a very nice watch and it is poor business to have a product that will not sync to Amazon Fire especially with ALEXA

I called Fitbit yesterday. I accidentally let my fitbit battery run all the way down and now my time is 2 hrs and 35 minutes off. I cannot change the time manually, so I called Fitbit. I was told I would have to purchase a device that is compatible to the Versa 2 because it has to sync to get the full function and to change the time. My frustration is now anger. I will not be purchasing a new device to work with my Versa. I will return my Versa 2 and get a different product that will work with my devices. It won't be a fitbit. (BTW, I also have a MacBook Air and I am able to put the fitbit app on it, but low and behold I cannot get it to recognize the Versa 2.) Extremely disspointed.

I tried this. The app loads and runs successfully (it even uses the WiFi with no problem), but it fails to connect with Bluetooth - which makes it useless. The problem seems to be the same one as with the native Kindle Fire Fitbit app.

I am sooo mad too, it should work because it has ALEXA on it. I AGREE with you 100%

There is no other way to describe this than absolutely piss poor on Fitbit's side. My Android phone just died but I have 4 kindle fire tablets. I figured it would be no big deal to just sync with the Fire. But no, it will not sync up with a single one!!! The stupid (expensive!) watch even has Amazon Alexa...but won't sync with an Amazon product. How idiotic. I was flirting with the idea of going with a different brand when I replaced my last fitbit due to what I thought was excessive pricing but stuck with it due to familiarity. This may be my last. I have to wonder if if fitbit even cares since I think they are owned by Google now. I guess they'd rather have people saying "hey Google" instead. I bet there won't ever be a fix.
