Can't add friends to a challenge

I have the Android Fitbit app. When I start a challenge I can't add friends from my contact list. The Fitbit app is set to look at contacts. I used to be able to do it, did something change ?

Let me help you with adding friends to your Challenges. Do you have friends added to your Fitbit account? When adding friends from contacts you will need to have their email address added to the details and that email should be associated with their Fitbit accounts. You can add friends to your account by following these instructions.

I see why you are confused @cherylmurphy . It is unclear, why the default list is contacts to me but at the top of the screen to invite players you see Contacts selected, if you select Friends further to the right you will then see the Fitbit Friends you are looking for. Selecting the + bubble should get you together to have some fun in the challenge.  Happy stepping!
