Fitbit Update: 6/5

Hey there, Versa Fam!

Thanks so much for your patience with this issue of clearing notifications from the watch. Our team has identified a fix for this that will release in a future firmware update.

I'm not sure when the next firmware update will be rolled out, just know it should include the fix for this. In the meantime, please give your Versa a restart if you have trouble "clearing all" the notifications off. After the restart, your notifications will be gone.

Fitbit Update: 2/27

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to follow-up with you all that have come across any difficulty clearing notifications on their Versa. I've experienced this myself a few times and a restart has always resolved the problem. Please give the watch a restart as your go-to troubleshooting step.

Our team is aware of this ongoing problem and working on a permanent fix. Please stay subscribed to this thread for future updates on this topic.

Restarting my iPhone actually corrected my problem & the notifications all started coming in at the same time, so its been running smoothly since then.  Thank you. Smiley Very Happy

Hi, great news that the development team is working on a fix for this. Any news on when this might get rolled out? I'm having to restart my versa once every day or two just to clear out the notifications and it would be great not to have to do that anymore. I'm really hoping the firmware update isn't months away...

If I were to restart it would my personal achievements and data be lost also?

Sync first. But no. They are stored in the Fitbit anyway, unless you do a factory reset. It's just a restart you need to do to get rid of them.

They are also stored on the Fitbit servers.

Providing you sync to the Fitbit app (which syncs to the Fitbit cloud), you’ll lose nothing.

As a form of encouragement, I had reset my Versa SE once, at least 2-3 weeks ago, and maybe rebooted my iPhone XS once that long ago. Since then, ALL notifications have cleared properly. In fact, I just tried it now to be sure, and I had quite a lot of notifications. I then got the normal notice: “Nothing new here. You’re all caught up”.

Good luck!

Also when your get too many notifications the notifications and call alerts will stop working on the watch and too resolve it you need to clear all the notifications on the phone and the watch and it may start working again. A restart of the watch and phone works for a little while. This issue is on both iPhone and Android with the latest system versions. This makes the watch allot less usefull and it needs to be resolved asap. Also it's super stressfull too never know if notifications works it's almost better to not use the watch at all then. And don't say this issue is only for me I have tried 2 different versas 2 different phones both on iOS and Android and I have tried factory reset on the phones and on the watch.

Hello,

I would like to know when this solution will be delivered. We are reaching more than 6 months that this issue has been identified and no final solution has yet been provided.

It is not quite nice to restart my watch almost every day.

Thanks for replying...

Best regards,

Lucio

Hello as a Fitbit Developer I can tell you this issue is trying to be fixed I see people respond to my post reset you phone and Fitbit for Android and iPhone hold the power button and then fitbit go to settings and then go all the way down then press shut down NOT RESET resetting will delete all data from the Fitbit and setup usually takes a long time so be careful then turn them all back on a go to notifications center in the Fitbit and then press clear all then they will all go away

Thank You

What is worrying is this problem is still going on and customers were complaining about this issue in December last year.  I now have a further problem that I don't receive messages at all unless I uninstall and reinstall the app every 3 or 4 days and I have been told that it's probably my phone as I have a OnePlus 3T and they have only tested it on the OnePlus 1. So I am just about ready to give up on Versa and go to Samsung

Absolutely right, this is a major issue with a fundanental feature. It's going to be a deal breaker for a lot of people if this doesn't get fixed soon. I came to Fitbit Versa from Apple watch because it supports pretty much all the features I need. With this flaky issue with the notifications though, I'm starting to think I'll need to look for an alternative. The crazy thing is that I can't believe this could be so hard to fix. Fitbit should be all over the fix for this or customers will start going elsewhere.

I don't understand why they always tell their customers that because the exact same issue is on multiple Android and iPhone phones I have tested.
