Can't connect my Skullcandy Evo earbuds to my Versa 3

Fitbit tell you that the versa 3 connects to 'any' bluetooth headset but that's simply not true I'm finding? I have some skullcandy evo and the watch does 'find' them but then a big red cross appears and its says connection failed. I contacted Fitbit and they said it's a bug and they are trying to fix - but who knows how long that will take? My question is whether others are having the same issue and if indeed Fitbit are spinning a line and this isn't a 'bug' - they are just selling a product that isn't what is says it is (compatible with all bluetooth headsets). Trying to decide to return it or not.....

Is this also an issue with the Versa 2? I was really looking forward to this feature and am quite disappointed at the moment.
