Can't connect to WiFi always out of range

I got the versa about 3 weeks ago and I'm unable to connect to any WiFi networks at all, when I go through the app I'm able to pick the wifi and add password but then it just hangs there connecting until it gives me a red X on the watch and the app says out of range. All these WiFi have WPA2 authentication and have 2.4/5Ghz, I think this supports only 2.4Ghz right?

This is just one of many issues I experience with what feels like a beta product once again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes it only supports 2.4Ghz. As for why it's not connecting, that's a difficult one. It seems some routers have compatability issues for whatever reason, although you mention you have tried different access points so that should rule that out.  Maybe this help article will be of some use to you, it has some troubleshooting steps.

I guess it could be a problem with the Versa itself, if that's the case you may wish to contact Fitbit support for further assistance.

Thanks for reply!

It would be nice to know the technical specification for the WiFi, reading on another post they said the only way to connect was to use WPA instead of WPA2. I'm not decreasing security just for the watch, if this is not supported this is going back to store.

Edit*

Just created hotspot with my phone, WPA2 PSK and it connected, however it can't connect to my home or office WiFi, UniFi or Meraki system running 2.4Ghz WPA2 PSK also.

It should definitely work over WPA2, all of my routers use this and my Ionic connects no problem, the Versa should be the same.

I found the following in the Versa user manual

Thanks for your reply again.

Yeah mine is WPA2 Personal, will need to test this when I'm home.
