Can't get music from MacBook Air to Versa

I upgraded from an Alta to a Versa specifically for the music feature but it's proving impossible to get music onto this thing. I have tried the web page, which has me download or takes me to the App Store, which then tells me the app is only available for IoS WHICH IS WHAT I'M ON! When I finally got it to pair, which took several tries, it told me to see the mobile app for music management. The mobile app tells me to see desktop app and nowhere am I getting an option to add music. This is supremely frustrating and should not be this difficult. What am I missing?

I found this post by kcronin and followed these directions and it worked.  It took a while, so I'd plug in my versa first.

I was able to do this but it wasn't easy.  I'll let you know what I did.

1.  Make a playlist in iTunes specifically to upload to your Versa.  Make sure it doesn't exceed the space limit of ~300 songs.  I did 60 songs to start.

2.  Make sure your MacAir and your Versa are connected to the same 2G wifi network.  This only works over a slower 2G band.

3.  I put my Versa in the charge cradle and connected to the MacAir.  I plugged in the power cord for the MacAir.

4.  Make sure you have re-installed the FitBit Connect app since you registered and activated your Versa so that when you open the Connect app you have the option of "Manage My Music".

5.  Click on Manage My Music and open the Music app on your Versa as instructed pressing "Transfer Music".

6.  Select the playlist you have especially made for your Versa.  Music needs to be stuff you have purchased and resides on the MacAir.  Family Sharing music won't work.

7.  One of the most important steps - Disable any Sleep or Power Saving on the MacAir.  Everytime the laptop went to sleep, the Transfer stopped.

I think it took about an hour to transfer 60 songs. Might have been shorter if I had figured out not to sleep the laptop.  Try to be near your router.  I have a Net Extender I use for the house network and I was very near to my extender.

@Skyybluepurple  I'm glad my previous directions worked for you.  I think one of the biggest hiccups for people is that they are using playlists that have been downloaded from a streaming service they have a subscription to.  The way I interpreted the directions, this won't work since you don't technically own that music.  You just have the right to listen while you have a subscription.  Transferring to the Versa turns that downloaded music from "borrowed" to "owned".  Which, of course, isn't the case.  Just my thoughts and I might not be correct.  If someone gets songs from a streaming service to actually transfer to the Versa, not just play through an app on the Versa, please weigh in and tell us how you did it.

I appreciate you posting, obviously there are many of us that couldn't figure out how to make it work 🙂
I wanted to link to your original post, but was not sure how to do that here, so I'm glad you saw this!

Thank you the trick was making the playlist in iTunes.  I was able to download all my music.  Took a couple of hours but they downloaded.  Thank you again.
