Can't get past the 4 digit code screen to add my Versa 2

Hey,

Can anyone help? I've been having syncing problems with my Versa 2, so 'forgot' the device and have tried to add it back. I have done this before and it worked, today I can't get past the four digit code screen. I just have a spinning wheel of doom, saying 'connecting to Fitbit' before it flags up a different code to try.

I've read several threads on this and have tried all the recommended tips and I am still having the same problem.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there, @moogdawg. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. It's sad to hear that you cannot set up your Versa 2 despite the steps you've tried so far. I will do my best to help you with this!

To make sure we do things the right way, please confirm that you've tried the steps below in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Versa 2 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

If the above has been done correctly, but the issue with the 4 digit code screen persists, I'd suggest performing a factory reset as our last resort. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
    1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
    2. Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates you initiated the factory reset.

At this point you can set up the watch again. For instructions, see How do I set up my Fitbit device?

Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account, your applications, alarms, etc.
